1. Played this last night when the kids were in bed. I heard my wife stop what she was doing outside the door and listen - that doesn't happen too often! Decided to keep it for the time being, sorry if you have messaged me and are considering it. Edit: Whoops - didn't mean to bump either! Sorry.
Selling my Sansamp VT deluxe, as I've now got an SVT 2, and its become redundant. This is programmable 6 channel version with a DI. It's mint, but can take pictures if needed. £150 + p&p Cheers, Dave
What a bargain. I love mine.
3.
How about putting the effects in loop A,the U- Bass in loop B,and putting the VT Bass in the output after the line selector? Then the VT is always available, but you can bypass it when you use the U-Bass. Ok...your signal will always be passing through the VT,but it's not going to be a big deal.
Thanks for that, good idea, appreciated. Should I keep the reverb and chorus in the VT effects loop? Tech 21 says that time based FX should be after the VT or in the loop.
4. Is there a better way to do this? After spending time with a GT-10B, I decided what I needed (yes, I know it's a very personal choice and not everyones cup of tea!) and I'm putting together my first pedalboard. Everything will be on my pedaltrain 2 with Voodoo power supply. I've studied lots of posts on here and articles on other sites, even a couple of books. I know I'll need to experiment with the order, but would the order below be a sensible first stab at it? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Bass into: Boss TU-3 Tuner > LS-2 Line Selector Send A: EBS WahOne > MXR BEF > MXR BOD > EHX Bass Big Muff > VT Bass Deluxe (VTBD Effects loop: Strymon BlueSky > EHX Small Clone) Send B: Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator (for my Kala uBass) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ One thing I would really like to do, but I can't get my head around how I would do it, would be to have an option that bypasses everything but the VTBD, so I would end up with 3 loops plus a bypass: 1. Only VTBD 2. All effects available (inc. VTBD) 3. Kala uBass setup 4. Bypass, straight to amp (which is a PJB Suitcase which has 2 channels with seperate EQ's) Any ideas? Can this be done? have I missed something stupidly obvious? Thanks for any help or advice you can give. Chris
5. Quick Monday morning bump before it gets ebay'd. Anyone fancy a beautifully setup electro acoustic with a neck to die for?
6. Thanks both. It is a fantastic bass, but I now have the kala ubass for unplugged practice, so it's not getting used. And my better half is seriously questioning the number of basses I have. No idea why.
7. Sorry, my bad. It's a head.
8. Don't they do a rack mount version? Sure I saw one on their site a while back?
9. We do some Old Crow Medicine Show covers and the kala uBass running through a Boss AC-3 Acoustic sim does the job for me. It takes many hours of noodling to get used to the scale, high action and the pups, but it's great fun, the sound is pretty much spot on. The best thing is, I take it everywhere! You can practice anywhere because it's virtually silent from 3 feet away. Oh, and it's almost weightless too. I'm loving it.
10. Had a Wah pedal from Paul. First class transaction - deal with Paul with confidence. A top guy. Chris
11. An 'improve your timing on a Thursday morning' bump, now 70 squid inc. P+P.

PM sent. Cheers Chris
13. Happy to consider courier/postage if this helps?
14. Just tried my Kala Ubass with a Boss AC-3 (in piezo mode) through my PJ Suitcase. I think my personal search for the UB sound is over. I'll try and record it when I get back from Greenman.
15. Thanks for the advice guys, I think you are right, any kind of tempo feature with a live drummer just isn't going to work. Unless of course the tap tempo on the pedal was played live too - or is it programmed after a few taps?
16. Sorry, never used a delay pedal before, so if this is a stupid question - feel free to put me in my place! We have a couple of songs in our set list that call for a a very simple 8th's on a single string bass line. The sort of thing keys should be playing, but we don't have keys. Think 'Common People'. Could I use a delay pedal to play the first 8th and let the pedal fill in the rest of the bar? And if our drummer starts to speed up or slow down slighty (yes, it has been known), could I use the tap tempo pedal 'live' to keep the tempo in check? Yes, lazy I suppose - but my excuse is that I'm saving my fingers for later songs! I'm think of a DD-7 with a Boss FS-5U or similar. Thanks very much, Chris
17. I'm selling my Ibanez Tonelok LF7 Lo-Fi pedal to make room for a few recent purchases. There are plenty of YouTube demo's out there, here are a couple to kick off: http://youtu.be/aUtbCx2UYuY http://youtu.be/a-eLTP3Zdtc The blurb: "The first dedicated filter pedal for the guitar, the LF7's voltage controlled analog high and low pass filters allow you to emulate transistor radio and megaphone type sounds. Best used at the end of a signal chain in combination with other pedals, this ticking time bomb creates wide soundscapes of far out tones that previously required a massive rack of vintage analog electronics. The Lo-Fi also performs equally well with vocals, drum machines or in any "mix-down" context". Drive - Controls the amount of distortion. Distortion will increase when the knob is turned to the right. Lo Cut Frequency - Sets the frequency at which the low range will be cut (80Hz - 1kHz). Turning the knob to the right will raise the cutoff frequency, simulating the sound of a small speaker. Hi Cut Frequency - Sets the frequency at which the high range will be cut (1kHz - 10kHz). Turning the knob to the left will lower the cutoff frequency, producing a muffled sound. Level - Controls the overall volume of the pedal. Volume is increased when turned to the right and decreased when turned to the left. Mode - Switch the type of sound and input. GUITAR: Warm sound suitable for guitar DRUMS: Sound suitable for a music source such as drum machine or CD MIC : The input will be boosted so that a mic can be connected directly. The boost will occur even when the effect is off. This pedal is in great condition and is only a few months old. £40.00 posted or trade for Big Muff Bass.

20. BOSS DB-90 Dr Beat Metronome http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/DB-90/ A few months old, as new condition, with box. I paid £109.00 from Amazon. I would like [s]£75.00[/s] £70.00 including postage, or pedal trades/px considers. Cheers Chris
21. Bought an LS-2 from Pablo - quick and easy, couldn't be better. Thanks very much Chris
22. Check out neodymium magnets on ebay. They are tiny and fiendishly strong. They can be the size of the small rubber feet on some pedals. Just bought some 6mm neodymium magnets for another project (holding up curtains in my camper van). For example, a 6mm x 3mm disk shaped magnet has a pull of over a kilo. Not sure what they would do to the electronics though.
23. Some more info... I paid £80 for this a couple of months ago, but then got my VTBass.
