1. Sam bought my lovely Ampeg SVT-4 Pro. Great guy, smooth transaction, great comms. Cheers Sam, enjoy the amp. Chris
2. These can still be delivered in time for Christmas... pop them under the tree and blame Santa!
3. Sorry folks, yes, they are available singley too! £40 each posted, £75 for the two posted. Christmas is coming, send a link to this thread to your husband, wife, kids, grandparents
4. [s]For Sale: Two x PJB SS-4 Speaker Cables (4' Speakon/Speakon) I have two of these amazing speaker cables for sale. As thick as a baby’s arm! They cost me an absolute bomb, but I’m not using amps and cabs anymore and these fellas are just sitting in my cable bag. If you want the best speaker cables in world, then these are for you £75 for the pair, posted to UK address. Here is the bumph from the PJB site… Check out the best quality speaker cables on the market for your PJB gear![/s]

[s]Model: SS-4[/s]
[s]Length: 4 foot[/s]
[s]Connectors: Speakon/Speakon[/s]
[s]It's not uncommon for today's bass player to use amplifier power up to 1000 watts and beyond. These high-power amps develop high currents feeding low impedance speakers sometimes peaking to 30 amps or more. Speakers at this power level need great control by the amp's damping ability. That's the ratio of amp impedance to speaker impedance. Kind of like putting on the speaker's brakes so your speakers stop and start on a dime - giving your bass sound tighter punch and better dynamics. Using cables with the slightest of loss can be disastrous on low-ohm loads. Even a fraction of an ohm in cable resistance can result in wasting some of those precious watts. PJPS speaker cables use four conductors instead of two found in normal speaker cables and with the high-purity copper multi-strand conductors (9 AWG equivalent), resistance is ultra-low so your speakers get virtually 100% of the power delivered by your amp. Our plugs are manufactured by us because nobody builds them as strong as we do. So you are assured of the utmost dependability night after night, never having to worry about your cables.[/s]
5. [s]Three 12AX7 / ECC83 Harma Retro Cryogenic treated valves I bought these valves from Watford a few weeks ago, they were in my Ampreg pre’ for about 5 day, played for a couple of hours and then taken out as I sold the pre’. I paid £65 + postage for the three valves. Yours for £50, carefully packed and posted, or £45 picked up from Swansea. The silicon damping rings are from a hifi buff pal who swears by them. You can take 'em off if you don't want to use them. They are supposed to reduce unwanted harmonics or some such magic. Here’s the skinny from Watford… Harma Deep Cryogenic Treated valves offers the immense warmth and smooth distortion characteristics only normally found in very expensive NOS valves such as Mullards. The process involves taking the vacuum tubes and freezing them down to -312 f and soaking these for a minimum of 12 hours. Then the temperature is held at this low level for 24 hours. The vacuum tubes are then slowly brought up to normal levels over the next 12 hours. Metals respond very well to deep cryogenic process. The reasons are as follows. During the cooling or solidification phase of the manufacturing process, molecules are trapped in a haphazard pattern. This is down to stress caused in the bending and welding of the anode plate material. This random placement causes obstacles for electrons and when encountered this interference can cause noise, slow down electron flow and sound deterioration affecting the quality of the sound of the vacuum tube. At very cold temperatures (below -312°F), the molecules will align in a more uniform, compact structure through the removal of kinetic energy. When the material is returned to ambient temperature, this new uniform, compact pattern is maintained, Thus changing the structure of the nickel permanently. This process makes a permanent change and the benefits do not deteriorate over time or upon return to operating temperature, it changes the whole way the vacuum tube performs. The biggest benefits I have found has been a dramatic improvement in dynamic range. Bass response has been clearer with reduction in microphonics and clear more transparent highs. The Harma ECC83 Retro CRYO is a true sounding recreation of the famous Mullard ECC83. Unlike many tube suppliers, we are not interested is a look alike copy we are interested in the sound. The ECC83-Retro produces the warm detail and harmonically rich midrange that made the Mullard sound so famous. The valve has been designed to have a smooth harmonic slope which gives a warm crunch. The Cryo treatment gives greater depth and clarity to the valve sound, sweetening the highs and tightening the lows .The Cryo also adds a crisp bite to the valve making this the ideal choice to add crunch and punch to your sound. Due to its warm smooth slope and the enhancement of the treble performance by the Cryo treatment the upper mid fizz from your distortion sound that is common in modern amplifiers is removed. To reduce the microphonics the valve has extra thick mica spacers with a rigid anode construction. To further reduce microphonics the valve is made from extra thick glass with a 22mm diameter. In manufacture special attention is paid to the stamping of the anode plates to ensure close balance between the triodes. This Cryo valve provides glassy smooth highs with a more musical midrange than the untreated item, with the added bite that you need. This is the perfect valve to upgrade all ECC83/12AX7 types in all applications.[/s]
6. Thank you for that Pete, makes sense! Loving this. I've had b3 but the size of this thing is obviously better. Best value kit I've ever bought!
7. I didn't want to hijack the other MS-60B thread as hopefully this will be a quickie for Dood! I've run the bass chorus setting into the front of my Portaflex 500 - lovely I drop it into the FX loop and it distorts like crazy on the E and A strings and even on the D and G if I dig in. I've tried fiddling with the levels / mix, but I just get a quieter distortion. Is this pedal not designed for the loop or am I missing something? It does it on all the effects on the Zomm btw. Cheers Chris
8. Looks like this is going on eBay this weekend Last call for £450? This is over £1200 on GAK!!!
9. Price drop for a week or two as I have a deal that I need to fund quickly! Cheers Chris
10. [s]Bump for a Zoom MS-60B or a nice chorus pedal trade.[/s] Sorted.
11. Immaculate, as new. A couple of months old. It turns out I'm no keys player, although I've had great fun playing and recording my bass and guitars on the computer! Here's the guy: http://uk.line6.com/podstudiokb37/ £175 posted - all original packaging. Cheers Chris
12. If you have an ipad, go and look up the new 'Bias' app from the guys who did the excellent Jam Up app, Positive Grid. I've never heard anything like it. Stunning bass amps included.
13. I've fitted a tilt back kit to my Ampeg Portaflex PF-115HE. I got it from Fliptops.net. Works really well and is very solid. For this cab, casters off, I drilled 13cm from base of cab. It's a 5 minute job, you don't even have to remove the batting from inside of cab Thought others may find this useful. Cheers Chris
14. Thank you for that Paul, cheers.
15. NancyJohnson - how's the unit? Still happy with it? I've decided to get one now to supplement my tube pre' - like you said - just for a change every now and again! Do you run it into your desk or into a poweramp?
16. Bump for a very nice (and cheap) addition to your rack! Looks better than the 1U blanking plate you have in at the moment
