unless i've missed something here, the jamman is comprised mostly of digital circuitry, which obviously will only run off of low voltage DC. Chances are, the actual rectification and regulation of the input voltage is done internally, and the external power supply is AC simply to save the cost of putting additional unneeded circuitry into that....i can't really see a reason why it wouldn't work off a DC supply?
I connected mine to a 9V DC supply when it arrived, thinking that would be the case. Pop. Broken Jamman has to go off for repair.

I just sold noirpunk a bass. The whole transaction was as smooth as David Beckham's face after he's just screwed up an ad for a Gillette razor with 7 blades, and had to re-take 17 times. So you should all deal with him.
you can prolly pick up a 9v ac supply at maplins...i'm no expert on ac psu tho...would it need to be regulated or smoothed a certain way ?
It is AC. When I needed one (having imported a US JamMan), I found that the model number is PS0913B and I got one from piedog. But they've gone bust (GOOD). Soundtech http://www.soundtech.co.uk/digitech/ps0913B or google for more stockists.

I was just thinking about simultaneous equations the other day in the shower. Yes, I'm a geek. Finally a chance to use them in real life. Let's take B as the value of the bass without a neck. G is the value of the graphite neck. W the wooden, and S is shipping. So: B+G = 800 B+W+S = 800 B+W+G = 900 We can see straight away that W+S=G, and that W=100. Also G-S=100, and so 100+S=G. This gives us B+S=700 And therefore S=100, B=600, W=100 and G=100. Therefore we can speculate that the bass, plus both necks, plus shipping, B+W+G+S will be £1000. Which is a bargain IMO. I really enjoyed GCSE maths, all those years ago. Lovely bass, btw. I'm sure it'll sell soon.

Who actually feels 100% happy with what they've got?...
dangerboy replied to Josh's topic in General Discussion
I'm really happy right now. Got my dream bass, and my perfect amp. So I'm selling loads of other gear. I reckon I'll stay GAS free until these reach the UK... In a recent bass deal I ended up with a Gator Extreme case - it's designed to fit every kind of weird or pointy guitar, using lots of velcro foam blocks that fit around the guitar. It's as new, still has tags on, and the key is inside. It's no use to me. Anyone want it for a tenner? Collection from Holloway, or I can meet you in central London. It's one of these: http://www.gatorcases.com/productsmodeldet...=114&MID=87 http://www.imuso.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?StockCode=AC00094

I'm selling off loads of basses, following the rules of last in, first out. Next up is this Ibanez Rickenfaker. It's a 2388B and is, as far as I can tell, all original apart from the missing pickup cover, and one missing pickguard screw (I can supply a replacement). Solid body (I think), bolt-on neck, mono out, checquered binding, full-width sparkly inlays. Finished in black, and its clearly seen a few gigs as the finish is chipped in places. Or "mojoed", as I like to call it. Now on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=320305546584 LOADS of pictures at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dangerboycrea...57607496440153/

FEMALE BASSIST/BVs WANTED for FULL TIME all female BAND
dangerboy replied to TheShebeats's topic in Musicians Wanted
To all the lads salivating over this ad: Surely your dream is a girl bassplayer, and this band doesn't have one yet? I don't understand. Leave them alone to recruit their bassplayer. Then hit on HER. ;-) -

I need to sell some basses. It's a sad, sad day. First out of the door is this lovely Hondo II. Yes, it's a bolt-on neck. yes, it has only one truss rod. Yes, it's made in Korea. Yes, it's ply. But it still sounds and looks good enough to be more than £150-worth of fun! it has two nice chunky single coil pickups and a big meaty sound with a touch of clang! I bought this off eBay a few months ago - the tuners, which appeared to be made of foil, were shot so I replaced them with big chunky Grover Titans that will stay in tune for months. The knobs were cracked and falling off, so I put on some smart new black ones. There are a whole load of photos at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dangerboycrea...57607438981039/ This is the same model of bass that Peter Hook played in the early Joy Division days, and used to record Unknown Pleasures. http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2007/1...ts/07lim650.jpg This bass will set you back £150 if you meet me in London, and if you want it posted you'll pay postage at cost. So probably a shade under £20 extra. Anyone fancy entering the Rickenfaker world with a touch of history at a low, low price?

Some of you will have heard of the legendary two-basschatter band, Songs From The Shows. A lovely chap called Neil Wood filmed part of our second-ever gig, last week. So here is a song for your delectation. It's called Bugs, and Bugs. And Bugs. Next gig is October 2nd, at the Miller, near London Bridge. I ended up with this bass as part of a pair from eBay. Short scale really isn't for me, so it's for sale. It's an Egmond, and made in Holland. Weirdly. Other than that I know nothing about it, except that it looks like it's had an interesting life. The body is ply and weighs almost nothing. The neck is incredibly skinny. The tuners have been replaced at some point in its life with Schaller copies (that stay in tune really well). The bridge is not fixed - its held by string tension, and you have to drag it into the right place to intonate the bass. Right now it's strung in fifths, with 120-90-60-30 gauge stainless steels. Two single-coil pickups, each with an on-off switch. There's another switch which has lost its shaft and doesn't seem to do a lot. Volume and Tone controls. £50 anyone? Or make me an offer? I can meet in London for pickup, or post to you if you pay postage. Always interested in trades.

Good songs to learn to sing whilst playing
dangerboy replied to bluesparky's topic in General Discussion
I find Morphine songs work really well. -
Is there a Fodera database? I know that one of the reasons people put their guitars and basses onto the Travis Bean database is in case they get nicked. There aren't many so they're easy to track.
