1. All gone now.
2. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;hl=bassmaster TA-DA!
3. All depends how long you can wait. I just bought my third 70s japanese 'faker, and none of them cost as much as £280. Plus infinitely more 'mojo' than a modern one ;-) Keep an eye on here, and eBay.
4.
If you can tell me the values of the volume and tone pots, and the treble cut and bypass capacitors, so I can restore the much modified electronics on mine to their original state, then you can have a bump on me!
Will do!
5. It all depends what 'twisted neck' means. This bass could need so much work that it ends up being very expensive. And I think that's shown by the fact this wasn't snapped up in an hour.
6. PRICE DROPPED TO £360 This is one of my stable of aluminium-necked basses. It breaks my heart to sell it, but I never play it, because I'm too scared of hurting it by playing hard with a pick, and scratching the finish. This is a Kramer 450b. Made in Neptune, New Jersey, USA. Aluminium neck, with wooden (walnut) inserts for warmth and to keep the weight down. Walnut body. Two pickups, described on various sites as humbuckers, but they're actually single coils (I know, because I bought a spare) with pole pieces directly under the strings. Passive. The finish is really nice. It has a few pock marks, but is pretty enough that, as stated above, I don't want to hurt it. Everything is original, apart from one machinehead. Three machineheads are the original Schallers, but one is a Gibson (Although it's so similar that I strongly suspect that it's a rebadged Schaller). The speed knobs, and even the aluminium 'bullet' switchtip are there. Both pickup rings are present (which is very rare on a 450b), but one has been cracked and glued during its history. Original neckplate, pickup plates, control cover etc all present and very very shiny. These were made in the late 70s, and there is a forum dedicated to discussing them at http://www.kramerforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=7 . Lots of guys who used to work in the factory in New Jersey making these basses post on there. I'm after £400 plus postage for this. It will come in a (battered) Hiscox case to make sure that it reaches you in as good condition as it is now. You can meet me in central London and save yourself postage any time you like. There are a couple of pics to get you started, but I'll be posting loads more.
7.
Where are you based?
In the majestic town of Holloway, North London.
8. Anyone want the following? They're yours for postage costs (or meet me in London and I'll hand them over): P-bass pickup (off a Squier) P-bass pickguard (white, 1-ply) Body off a VOX bassmaster (repainted black)
9. Last chance before eBay this evening
10. OK. Number 1 (signed and numbered!) is sitting in front of my amp waiting for all my neighbours to be awake so I can abuse it. More reports once I try it out.
11. I have a question. All over this site there are male bassplayers calling their basses 'she' or 'the girl'. Do female bassplayers call their instruments 'the boys'?
12. Bunch of things have gone on eBay. I'm giving the muff another week here before it goes to that 'orrible place with the second wave.
13.
yeah - whatever happpened about this ?
I'm trying out the first applicant on Monday... Will keep you guys up to date. Maybe we'll go for a 4-bass lineup in the end ;-)
14.
id love to kick on my civil war muff with a green muff before it sorely tempted, but no doubt it will sell before i make my mind up how the barber on bass??
Really nice. Especially once you kick the boost switch. Green muff still here, btw
15.
There's an interesting fan-forum here: http://peaveyt40.forumotion.com/login.forum?connexion
I just had a "moment" when I saw the one on the login page
16. Last time I popped into Oxford St loads of things had stickers on saying "property of [manufacturer name here]. NOT FOR SALE" so I guess most stuff was going back whence it came.
17.
You have an earlier post saying "Muff gone", and now you're posting muff pics? Might be an idea to clarify how many muffs are being discussed here and which ones are available.
Good point. Black muff gone. Green muff for sale. This will teach me to add to an old thread rather than start new ones.
18. must... resist... A t-40 is on my all-time 7-bass list (since that's how big the rack in my living room is). But I'm skint. These are phenomenal. But heavy. But phenomenal.
19. Bump with muff pics
20. Another addition to the mountain of Fuzz pedals...
21. Artec is gone! Small clone too! Buy buy buy buy buy!
22. Bump for price reduction
23. Bump with loads of new pedals. Better than cluttering the place up with new threads.
