1. I am only allowed to vote for my girlfriend. She doesn't like me thinking about other girls who play the bass.
2. Wow. That's lovely. Looks like a DMZ4000 with a retro-fitted humbucker. Is that right? Or is this some ultra-rare factory model that I've never seen before?
3. I'm sure lots of people will be along with recommendations. All I'd say is that £100 can buy an awful lot if you look through the classifieds on here, or buy second-hand on eBay. Plus the pedals will hold their value when you want to upgrade or try a new sound. A bit of sensible shopping could get you a decent trio of pedals in the classifieds.
4.
Putting headstock on cab for feedback is also a recurring theme.
Excellent. I'm more of a body-on-cab man myself, but I see where you're coming from.
5. Can I also suggest a tremolo set to a really, really low speed - so your wall of fuzzy stuff slowly crashes down on people, then fades away, then crashes down again. That might be fun - a roll of thunder under the sheets of guitar noise.
6. My girlfriend IS a bass player. And a much more talented one than me. What are you all doing with these non bass-girls?
7. My board changes on almost a weekly basis... But the principles are usually the same. All the fun true-bypass fuzzes that want to interact with my pickups at the front, with a true-bypass boost just in case. Then everything that isn't true bypass attached via loopers. Main EHX delay last (there's a shorted analogue delay in a loop to d slapback), then TU-2 to act as a buffer and kill oscillation for tuning if need be, then pre-amp. That usually works...
8. Anyone? Anyone at all? Trades? Offers?
9. EDIT: ON EBAY NOW I bought this lovely blue Bass Collection a few months back. Turns out that she for whom it was bought doesn't want it, and would like a jazz bass instead...
10.
Dangerboy, that Rusty Box looks interesting! Do you have any clips of it in use? Or any other info would be useful, I can't seem to find much on it!
Here you go Danny - from inception to final sales described on the electrical forum: http://www.electrical.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=24845 I'm told that I was the first person to order a production model. Woohoo!
11. To me! I love trems.
12. I got so excited because I thought we were going to discuss basses MADE out of metal... Oh well.
13. This: http://www.tronographic.com/ It made me sell my Sansamp.
14. Comptortion gone
15. We're starting a new three piece in London. We're influenced by Shellac, Cop Shoot Cop, Lightning Bolt, Om, Oneida etc etc We are bass and drums. Both been in post-rock bands before. We need you to come and play bass too. You will get loads of chance to shine, since no guitarists means no egos. Ability to play an aggressive, repetitive groove intensely desirable. If you can do some singing/shouting that's fine, but we have plenty of that already if you can't. No tunes or MySpace yet. You're going to help shape them. We want an intense, but open sound. Dynamics, distortion and despair in equal measures.
16.
wow, totally forgot bout the ultra fuzz interested in anything listed for sale in my sig?
Sorry Kev - none of those sound like my cup of tea.
17. I'm up for London! I can bring a selection of Devi Ever fuzzes, plus a whole load of other things. I guess I'll try and bring the fun ones people might want to try out for amusement or curiosity reasons rather than my normal gig board. Once we get organised I'll publish a full list so people coming can tell me what they want to try.
18. Ba-dump. Unless these go now, they'll all probably go on the 'Bay from tomorrow, if I remember.
19. Hi Dan, Sounds like your luthiery is still at the beginner stage, like mine. So a quick opinion... Before you try re-routing it is it worth trying different pups and circuitry in-situ? I'm petrified of routing, especially with no pickguard to cover all the mistakes.
20. BLACK MUFF gone. Other stuff still here. Some nibbles around the Ultra Fuzz but no bites yet.
21. Robbie's a pleasure to deal with. I hope he has lots of fun with his new Sansamp!
22. Another bump. Two more pedals added.
23. I want one SO much.
