1. Wish I was nearer York. This is like free money.
2. Can we have pics? I quite fancy a jagmaster.
3. We should come to a timeshare arrangement so we don't all fight over it.
4.
Sold mine last year for £30
Was that on eBay? I think I bought it. Currently trying to work out how to turn it into a baritone. Best feature: The two pickguards that overlap.
5. I stripped an identical bass (well, metallic pink) as my first adventure in bass DIY. The paint is incredibly thick and hard. It can be cracked off in flakes.
6. Wicked. Will come see.
7. What time you on tomorrow?
8. Just what I've been after! PMed.
9. Do you have a link? I can't find the post.
10. You have to laugh...
11. My MB2-500 has played plenty of very, very noisy shows and has held its own without PA assistance. It even managed to blow up a 400W EVM-15L once (to be fair I think the bass player in question was putting what sounded like a 50Hz square wave through it). At our last gig a bassplayer of 20 years experience came and asked me exact details of my entire rig because he was blown away by the volume and clarity. And I think he wanted to copy it. And I don't have an endorsement deal.
12. I have four strings worth of HipShot monorail bridge, totally new, still in the original sealed packet. Part of a job lot of bass bits I picked up and surplus to my needs. BassDirect price is £96 for this. I'll sell them to you for £50 shipped in the UK. In chrome and identical to this: http://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?...etail&p=222
13. It has been kindly pointed out that I listed my Lefty SX P-bass in the wrong place. Oops! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=125907
14. Any left-handers out there?
15. As part of a job lot of guitars I bought on eBay last week (I was only after one of them!) I have this lefty, short-scale P Bass made by SX. I'm right-handed so it's no use to me. It works, it looks good (apart from some tiny marks and my fingerprints!) and it sounds good. It's missing a knob, but I'll pull a matching replacement out of my parts box and install it before I ship it out. It's a 30" scale. Available to pickup in London, or I can ship (but you'll have to give me time to get a box etc). £70 picked up. Postage will be charged extra at cost.
16. I've started engineering bands. I don't want to be known as a particularly amazing engineer, just as the person you should call if you have an interesting bass sound and want to keep it that way. It was because one band I was in mixed me out of the recordings completely (to make more 'space' for the doubled guitar).
17. Hasn't joegarcia got it?
18. My first thought was RAT.
19. I use Sennheiser 650s. They work really well, but I have also bought some monitors to double-check once I think the mixes are done.
20. SOLD!
21. Picture added
22. A BOSS Hyper Fuzz in good condition. A few scratches to the paintwork, but sounding and working great. Here's what GuitarGeek say about it: "It ranges from nasty and nasal to warm and thick, but unlike vintage fuzz units, the FZ-2 doesn't clean up nicely when rolling off your guitar's volume pot. Mode Two's fuzz is so completely over the top and I can see why it is the chunky choice of bands like the Deftones and Orgy." http://www.guitargeek.com/gearview/63/ Works great with bass, helped by the two-band EQ. £60 posted. I just watched a whole load of FZ-2 videos on Youtube. Hilarious sludgy, fuzzy doom stuff. I started here and followed suggested links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i27BbaVwfmM
