Tribute Bands - don't the active "original" band get miffed?
the boy replied to ben604's topic in General Discussion
Different stratosphere. They don't even know they exist. -
I think you mean Douglas, not me Nevertheless, thanks for the compliment *tips hat*
Ah yes it was..... You are still funny though.
What..? The use of technology is cheating, I thought..! All those hours, spent scratching away over a parchment with my goose's quill were for nothing..? Fowl, I cry, fowl..! Whatever next..? We'll learn that some of the instruments heard were not really played, live, by the composer..? Shock, horror..! (Please excuse the tinge of jealously emanating from this open, honest, critique of your work... This is entirely your own fault for producing such immaculate production from a 'phone. Maybe it's time I updated mine..? )
You are a very funny man Milty. You are wasted here with us normal people.
+1 Sounds pretty good on my studio monitors, too - great vocal performance and production, btw. Which app did you use for this?
Thanks mate. Garage band. Thank you Spacechick.

Here's my entry, it's called "Mama leave a light on ( poor boy blues)". Typical story of a country boy heading to the city to make his fortune but ends up going home with his tail between his legs. This was made completely on my phone so any criticism of the mix/sound, constructive or otherwise will fall on deaf ears(hee hee). Also this is my first entry so go easy on me...... http://m.soundcloud.com/theboysings/mama-leave-a-light-on-poor-boy

P at the moment. I change frequently. Then I feel guilty and change back. What am I like. Ill be playing my P bass and ill catch my jazz looking at me thinking "what are you doing with that bitch? She's got a skinny arse, I thought you liked my fuller hips. You'll be back you bastard, and when you do, good luck trying to tune me you pig. So then ill patch things up with the jazz and the p will start giving me the sad eyes saying, " I see youre back with Paduang with the fat arse. You know she's up and down and I'm convinced she's bipolar, hi one minute and low the next. At least with me you know where you stand........" And so it goes on and on.........

I've given up on trying to tweak mine. I'm gonna submit as is. There's only so much mixing you can do on a phone before it starts to get pointless. Bit of pan, bit of volume, still sounds the same. It sounds rubbish but its not getting any better no matter how I tweak it so I'm giving up.

Anyone got a Spotify subscription ??
the boy replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
Forgot to mention it is excellent for injecting life into old stereos by using a phone etc and a Bluetooth (Logitech in my case) adaptor to stream music. I haven't been using it as long as some dudes here but it is the best discovery I've made in a long time. -
Gulp...... Might not enter after hearing the quality of the current entries. How do I transfer the link to my song from sound cloud.
Ignore this, I've worked out how to do it. I think. I was using the sound cloud app so there was no browser window etc etc...... I will enter my song in a couple of days once I get a chance to finish it at work. Is there a cutoff date? I've had a listen to the entries so far and they are a very hi standard. Well done entrants. I have a favourite already but I'm not saying yet.
You can do what? I've been using spotify for around 2-3 years now and love it. I don't buy music anymore, just stream which is glorious when I have signal (Usually good in central London). But I didn't know you can download music? Thats awesome!
There's an option to make the playlists available offline. Means you can listen to your favourite playlists without signal. -
Thanks, Rob. I actually do a lot of that in real time, record it - then place it in the track. So I have in fact been gurning quite extensively.
Gulp...... Might not enter after hearing the quality of the current entries.
Here's mine. Read the description of it to understand it better https://soundcloud.com/miltyg565/miltongrahambasschatbass
I like it Milty. No one has any lyrics in their pieces. Can there be lyrics? Are there rules? What's the deal? I have a chorus in my head for this picture.
I'm assuming you're talking about the tune Sam posted rather than the real person. It's not the best version of PoT that's out there... here's the original version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsZ_1mPOuyk (which I think is quite a pretty tune) There's an article about the real Tracy here in which she talks about the tune: http://www.indyweek.com/indyweek/continuum/Content?oid=1190028
Thanks for that, you are right. It's much better and I really enjoyed it.
I was really looking forward to this, but after a listen, I'm quite disappointed with it. "Get Lucky" I absolutely adore and I really like "Giorgio" but that's it.
Booooooohhhhh..... It's great, best album of 2013 for me. -
Do you mean that you don't understand my post? Are you just calling me by phone? (Hence the "Hello???") But to answer: yes, I feel that I am in the right topic. 1) Your literate text reminded a lot of Proust, so I proposed it was a quote from his most famous work. 2) As to the phones in the UK, it never ceases to amaze me how my British friends and connections have a reluctance against using the phone, claiming it is so expensive - even when a 50p call could well save them 50 quid. Me, I thought that phoning that little shop and buy it over the phone would be the thing to do. best, bert
Sorry, I didn't understand your post. It went a bit over my head mate. I get it now though. Touché, and well done. -
. It's from "À la recherche du temps perdu" ("In search of lost time"), and I'm claiming my five sovereigns. Edit: Question: do phones exist in the UK? best, bert
Hello??? Are you in the right topic? -
OK. Any way the wind blows.
I know what you are up to but no matter how much you tempt me, I won't be lured as "it doesn't really matter to me, too-oo me... Bing bing, bing bong" I'm a weak fool. It's like my misspent youth all over again. Why couldn't I say no? Why can't I still? Am I temptations bitch? Is there nothing of me in my own life? Am I to be forever at sea adrift without a rudder? Is a whim my only compass? The North Star I am not. I have no fixed or resting quality. I have reached the end of the garden path and there is no one left to hold my hand, I am alone. What now? -
How can anybody love a cat. You know they would eat you if you were small enough. No exceptions. There's no loyalty from the little bar-stewards.....
