No, it's just fantasy.
Phew!! That's ok. For a second there I thought I might be "caught in a landslide". As fun as this is, lets stop this now before somebody has the embarrassing job of trying to spell "scaramouche"???????? -
Poor "Tracy" she sounds like one mixed up bitch.

You are obviously not married. Lol.
How true. Sic transit gloria mundi.
Wow.... That is a beautiful saying. I've never heard it used in real life before. Is this real life? I'm going to throw it in at work a few times next week, might drop it into a few emails etc...... -
My first experience on a Fretless bass.
I was browsing a tiny local music shop the other day and in the window i saw an old 70s defretted, no name Japanese P copy, on sale for £75. Being curious i had to have a go. The experience was,, Weird to say the least. The bass was perfect, it crackled slightly, but what do you expect from an old £75 bass? It was for the simple reason that my fingers had no boundaries, no frets to stop me. For a few moments i was in awe, but coupled with the love of this new found freedom but also a dislike for change. It was a completely different animal. I regretting putting it back. So I'm going to finally retrieve it next weekend! Thanks, Sam
It will be gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First rule of love at first site is...... Once you've got her, never let her go. -
I had recorded the bbc coverage and some of it was cringeworthy. Having said that, they have a certain swagger about them but Mick Taylor seemed, on occasion, to be on a different planet.
Yes he did, what was he wearing. He's the only one who weighed more than 9st. In fact I'd say he weighed the same as the rest of the band in total.
Well, I had to check as I like the 2 songs , so I watched again to make sure I wasn`t in a cider haze. Apparently someone said Virgin played the whole set, so maybe you saw it there. Whatever the case, I enjoyed the limited set twice. I really don`t mind if you point out where I am wrong as I have been on many occasion.
That wasn't my intention at all, I was simply enjoying the banter and trying to have the craic. I fookin love you Gumbo......
Heh, I'll ask my mate who was flying camera chopper for the upcoming Stones film shall I?
Wow that sounds like a cool job.
Why didn`t you want to say? You can always tell me if I am wrong, I won`t mind. Did you see it on TV? I have just watched the iplayer again, and no Paint it Black or Give Me Shelter .Looking at the set list, it was early and the tv coverage only started with Miss you.
You've been a busy little detective. Sorry mate I was certain they played gimme shelter on the tele. Alcohol and recollection have never been good bed fellows.
I'm starting to get a flavour of how you feel and I'm sure there are health care professionals out there that can help you. They're just a band.
Please refer me, I think you may be right.
They did play Paint it Black and Give me Shelter.
Hee hee..... I know but I didn't wanna say.
If you enjoyed the Stones so much why not treat yourself and go the whole hog with your Keef tribute - rent a Chateau in the South of France and get yourself a kilo of smack and a blonde girl with big knockers . That open G tuning will start to sound even better , I guarantee it .
I'm wearing the T-shirt.....
-
Tuned one of my guitars open G today in honour of Keef, it's a Squier tele so it looks the part. Must admit it was lot if fun. I'm gonna leave it like that for a while.
Thanks for the recommendation , but there is enough grinding misery in my life already .
I must admit NC is a miserable bastard, however is also a genius and at certain times in my life I've been quite drawn to his music.
I didn't say that, I said that posts on how good they were here depended on whether you were a fan or not.
No you didn't.

Fender selling necks and bodies separately, seem pretty cheap!
the boy replied to SlapbassSteve's topic in General Discussion
This is gonna hurt mighty mite and all parts big time. You still have the ballache of fitting their parts with a decal if you wanna seal the deal as such. This is good news for me. I've been waiting for fender to do this for years. -
It seems from here that how good you think it is depends on whether you are a fan or not. I am not, I feel not much about them either way, just an old group that was never really that relevant to me. I saw about 15 minutes of it and turned over, I thought it was quite bad, even for them. I am guessing if you liked them you would see something different. Of the two people I know at glastonbury who mentioned them, one really enjoyed the set and the other didn't, but the first one was a lot more drunk! On the other hand, I am even less of a fan of Chic, but watched their whole show, that was great (especially the bass player).
I really don't see the point of this post. Of course how good you think they are depends on whether you are a fan or not. If you are not a fan you are hardly gonna say " watching the stones here, they are excellent but I think they are sh*t". Of course you would see something different if you liked them. As for you liking chic less but watching them more, what does that quantify, other than my level of confusion?
As I said, I am also a fan and they were more than decent. Their age didn't seem to be an obstacle to being on stage for over two hours, so that's not really an issue is it? I just wish they would trim the fat on a few of the songs to make space for others from what must arguably be one of the best back catalogues in the history of music. At the prices they charge for tickets, I don't think that's too much to ask.
Nope.......that's not an option. To ask the Rolling Stones to edit their music to suit your taste is the height of arrogance. Unless of course you are Beelzebub😈, the keeper of their souls and the guy responsible for their meteoric rise to fame. Assuming you are not the aforementioned dark lord then I simply cannot entertain the notion that the Stones should shorten or edit their songs in any way to suit your inability to appreciate something in its entirety. Would you ask da Vinci to trim a few apostles from either side of the 'last supper' as it strained your neck to look completely from left to right and appreciate the complete scene, after all you're not an owl. Nuff said, you k ow how I feel.
I'm a fan of TRS, but I think they have lost an edge. It's all very well playing "for well over two hours", but they still only managed twenty tunes (including the encore) and that's mainly because pretty much every song outstays its welcome by a good couple of minutes. I also get the feeling that guys like Mick Taylor are "invited" along because neither KR or RW can be bothered to put a decent solo together (not that guitar solos are everything or course). I switched off, mentally and physically, near the end of Midnight Rambler.
"Jesu christo" they are all 70 yo+ what do you expect from these guys. They were good. They were missing something......... Oh yeah, youth. I'm a massive fan so my judgement is clouded but they are still pretty decent.
Ted Manzie seemed to take it good heart which was my intention, which is the reason for me choosing one direction as using them as an example. I never thought anyone would take me seriously . I keep forgetting the type of things. What is a UFC forum?
I was messing too mate. I keep forgetting to add smiley faces etc. UFC as in ultimate fighter ;D
So did I....even though I was watching it whilst eating a cheese and jam sandwich, drinking tea and wearing my Tescos slippers.
Cheese and pickle or jam is very nice.
I thought they were a bit guff, aksh, apart from Charlie who looked like was really enjoying himself for once! Mick Taylor looked lost or beweildered. Or both. Anyone have an idea what that guitar Woody was using towards the end??
Agreed. Charlie always looked the oldest and now he's starting to look the youngest. Taylor looked like a competition winner. Ronnies guitar with the pearl guard was beautiful. I would love to own their guitars. Keef has the coolest guitars in the business.
If you want the look perhaps One Direction is going to be more your thing. I would take the music over the look anyday
That's unnecessary and rude. It's the kinda comment that's more at home on a UFC type forum. This place is chilled and happy please try and behave.

Seems cheap. Link seems to be down also. -
I think the Rolling Stones have the edge on hairdye over macca.
