[/quote] Very helpful:) I've seen this type of routing on a fender before. I think you are right to assume the cavity colouring is an indicator of the source. It's a not often seen colour and I'm sure the whole guitar was this colour at some stage. I would go to the fender officialforum. Those guys eat and sleep fenders. You should have an answer either way pretty fast.

There are a lot of good people here and I'm sure that's this guys circumstances got beyond control and he didn't intentionally set out to rip you off. That said his behaviour is appalling and he needs to sort this out ASAP. Good luck mate. I really hope we get a good result here. Sean if you are reading, it's not too late to turn this around people make mistakes we understand, do the right thing and sort this one out mate.

    Of course I agree but you've given him three-4 weeks. I found the moderators really helpful they didn't take sides they simply acted as a go between.
