rare Fender Precision A/E on gumtree London
the boy replied to bcbass's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
A mate of mine had one very similar to this and it was beautiful to hold and play, it even smelt nice, real woody(not man wood that wood smell awful). I would love one but they aren't very practical, tonally it was limited. The sound it made was real nice but there was no range. Am I making sense. -

It would be interesting to see how much he thinks it's worth. Fair enough if it was Manis from the stone roses and it was all Jackson pollocked, it might be worth a few grand but a session guitar used by some long forgotten mediocre indie types is simply delusional to expect more than the going rate.
The picture is definitely of a real 1960, this dark edged burst is very common on 1960 Jazz basses, almost all original '60 sunburst jazzes i've seen are like this, they fade to an almost 2-tone appearance. (See examples below for reference) Is the auction real............yeah right!! Has all the signs to avoid, zero feedback, especially rare item, poorly described, almost no pictures, starting price of £1, and no replies to questions. Pretty convincing.
I sold skinvert my 74 p bass maple neck. What a genuinely nice guy who is a pleasure to deal with. Payed instantly(haggled a bit, but I like that) no messing around. Please deal with confidence.
Might need to move the pups though, that's one DEEP / MID sounding bass there. Probably best not played through an Ampeg, unless you want the world to implode.
Ha ha:)

I think it's beautiful. Nowhere near worth the money. I'd give £220 on a good day, that's not an offer if you're reading.

Fender(?) Precision and Laney 2x10 combo...
the boy replied to chrismuzz's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
I'd be very careful with this one fellas. This is the 3rd or 4th time it's been relisted. Each time it sold but the buyer never materialised. I can swallow that line once but something stinks after the 2nd and third time. I contacted the seller to enquire about this but quel surprise there was no response. Tread with caution, if something looks too good to be true then it probably ain't true. -
So my parents bought me a Fender Precision copy..........

Bought some guitar bits and pieces from hong kong for cheaper than seems legal on the bay. All arrived in good condition. I was quite pleased. What ya gotta remember is these eastern traders are so desperate to tap into the western Market that they daren't put a foot wrong, negative feedback for these guys would be instant Hari-Kari. Trade with confidence. Everything you buy in the Uk comes from these guys anyway so all you are doing is cutting out the middle man.
http://basschat.co.uk/topic/159005-odd-looking-p-bass-on-ebay/ Been flagged on here before by the looks of it.
Yep I saw that I'm surprised it's still on there and doing so well. Didn't somebody report it as a fake to eBay? To be fair it's a lovely guitar but it's an obvious fake, somebody is gettin ripped off here big time. -
£17.50 all in, how much is a bag of coal.
If the execution had been better (considerably better), that might have made a nice unusual instrument.
Yes I agree if the guy who did this was executed before he started the outcome would have been much better. Not sure crack was the drug of choice here. This looks more like the intense whittling of a crystal meth addict. I heard a story once about this guy on crystal meth who whittled his foot into the shape of a hand so he could climb trees like a monkey.

A squier Vintage Modified it aint, a "Vintage" as in the manufacturer it is.
Now that should be reported, I haven't got it in me though. Bloody cheek all the same. Funny how people never make mistakes that downplay their instruments. Like a 51 p bass listed as a squier with logo jobby.

Can't get the link up but has anyone noticed the "squier vintage modified" for sale with the above details.
-
Maybe the guy doesn't know. He probably got suckered himself. Has anyone contacted him.

mmmmmmmmmmmm..........? now thats plain and simply taking the p!$$.

I suggest the claim of a bereavement in the family should prompt us to handle this case quite sensitively guys. This may be a genuine case of "not knowing" what they are selling.
