  1. I know, right!? Life's just getting very expensive these days! Anyway someone else will snap this up hopefully and save me the bother!
  2. Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. What a shame the current economy has be being 'sensible' with money!
  3. Brilliant - thanks for all the details. I keep it cause basically it's better than money in the bank at the moment but it's a bit wasted on me - at least it's looked after! I've had one pro and one semi-pro directly tell me it was the best p bass they've ever used, and I heard from the semi pro that a couple of the bands he used it with when I lent him it were absolutely blown away by it.
  4. She's still with me and she's still being taken good care of! By the way, should I ever sell it, do you remember more about the specs of the one I have? It was some special Japanese precision that you had to import wasn't it?
  5. Agree completely - I always bought good quality second hand instruments but I suspect prices of new and second hand desirable instruments will go up in the coming years.
  6. Buy it, give it a good battering with a bicycle chain and bingo you've got the distressed 'Sting' look! I'd love that shame money's so tight for everone at the moment - someone will get a bargain!
  7. I have seen various Steinberger copies over the years but I've never seen this one. Interesting body shape, and looks to be in nice nick too!
  8. Yes I do own it, I was responding to @Dood's question about this bass but yes I am perhaps contractually obliged to sell it now
  9. OK it tuns out my photography skills aren't up to much But as you can see she still doesn't have a mark on her. Over the years I've had a few people try it, one pro and another semi pro told me it was the best P bass they'd ever used - and these are folk who have tried 'real' vintage P basses - frankly the things wasted on me! One of my mates who gigs on and off borrowed it briefly for some blues gigs and again the rest of the band loved the sound. To be honest she's gotten very little use since I bought her - at time I think about selling her but at others I think with rampant inflation happening I'm better having a really nice example of a top end instrument rather than money sitting in the bank. Great to hear from you by the way! Have you done any more bass builds/customizations since you did this John Deacon signature model?
  10. She is still with me and well looked after! Gimme a sec I'll snap a photo
  11. Ah man if only I was rich! I'd love to even just be able to try one of those some day. A work of art IMO.
  12. I love this forum. Seeing all sorts of beautiful basses I never knew existed.
  13. Never seen one of these before! Very pretty!
  14. Thought I might have! It's an absolute stunner - hope it goes to a good home!
  15. Do I remember seeing this beauty on sale here before?
  16. These were always the nicest Kingbases IMO - scary to think they've been around for about 20 years now!
  17. I had no idea they came in that colour either! Very unusual.
  18. Could someone else hurry up and buy this so I don't give into temptation
  19. Would someone please do me a favor and buy this so I can move on from drooling at it
  20. This is one of my all time dream basses, right down to the choice of wood. I very much doubt something like this will last long!
  21. Half tempted to buy it just as a relic-ing project.... get it looking just like wot this up-and-coming player has
  22. I had no idea this thing even existed until now. That is stunning (but then I love anything with an 80's aesthetic). I can't justify spending the money on this but I agree that this is a steal and bound to go up in value.
