  1. Here we have the latest model 5hh SUB 5 bass in candy red. The stock bass comes with the big plate bridge which i don't like so that has been swapped out for a very good small plate version. Two screw holes are revealed but i have stained them red so are barely visible I have carbon wrapped the white scratchplate(pattern is called chopped carbon, really nice) which gives a classier vibe, easily removable if it doesn't suit the buyer. (also can wrap it in black if buyer prefers). Flat topped tele style control knobs. Other than that, stock. 5 position switch, Maple on Maple neck Well set up, Wide range of sounds plays beautifully. Currently strung with Ernie Ball 130/50 set. The pre-amp on these later version is less hot than the earlier examples and works well so i haven't changed it out. All the usuals, come round and try out, we have biscuits. (Rochester) Meet up somewhere close to the M25 for fuel money, coffee and a chat. Postage at buyers cost, i have the packing for it so expect about £40 courier costs insured.
  2. Busy weekend of 5 gigs in three days. Either this got missed in loading or lifted. My pedal board (with power supply). This is the last picture i have Geddy lee pedal Walrus Audio badwater Behringer eq tuner not shown but on there a valeton pedal (in the place of the octaver and overdrive.) If you see anything out there either lost/found or being sold please flag me. Lost/stolen in either Sandwich (kent) or Eastchurch(Kent)
  3. Aliexpress although some pop up on ebay every now and again. Not mega expensive but visually better than stock and reaily the same sort of quality.
  4. @Oopsdabassist i get the 3d version from ebay, the 4,5 and 6d version are too brittle. The other one i used (but expensive in comparison), is one called baked carbon...like this
  5. I am selling SUB 4 with all of the right mods on it to make it rather special. Firstly as a first run model this has a rosewood fretboard, not available on a the current new ones to my knowledge. Secondly i have swapped out the bridge for the smaller and more visually pleasing ray3x style bridge. Thirdly I have uprated the pre amp to the excellent retrovibe stinger '77 circuit. I have also vinyl wrapped the scratchplate and control plate in black carbon fibre. ( i can remove either on request) Finally I am selling this with a hipshot detuner. Very light plectrum wear on the front (couldnt photograph its that light. Other than that perfect.
  6. The SB-2 is Leo Fenders final design on the P-J. Smaller bodied than a precision is easier on the neck. This is one of the first run versions and is just amazing, the build quality is excellent with the now discontinued rosewood board..along with a trans orange finish, also now unavailable. US hardware and pickups (the industry renowned MFD pickups). The output is huge and great tonally. One unusual design difference is the bass has one volume per set of pickups and no treble . Balancing the tone is a very simple blend of the p pickup (bassier) and the J pickup (treble...ier) volumes. There is an easy mod to make it like a p-j or use stack knobs, but i never felt there was a need. Really a great gig instrument, lighter than a p bass, easy on the neck and back. Finally it has a hipshot detuner a great upgrade to the four stringer format. I cant say enough good things about these. Leo Fender said it was his best bass design. A players instrument for sure. Drop in and try (Rochester Kent) Meet up with reason for petrol/coffee money) Post at buyer expense (insured) Used on the attached music video. (Not high in the mix, but at least you can see what it looks like)
  7. And another attempt....different scammer this time. FFS.
  8. Avoiding the obvious 'sell on here', a warning about the latest FB scam. Its called the PayID scam. The proported buyer wants pay via PayId which is supposed to be a secure payment system to stop scammers. The email received is fake and here is what you get. Luckily i spotted it and instead another buyer is sending a courier round with the cash instead [sic]. Sigh, be careful out there folks
  9. NOW £295 The entry level sire with the mahogany body. This is in baby blue with matching headstock. Through body or top loading on the bridge (modded read further..) So the Sire miracle is well known, inexpensive and punch well above their pay grade. the rolled neck is lovely. Down side are the heavy cheap tuners (neckdive city..) and the non standard screw pattern on the bridge. I have changed the machine to a wilkinson clone of the hipshots which look good and work well. I have also modified a fender hi mass bridge for through stringing and set the bridge slightly further back then stock which to my ear slightly darkens the over all tone to the better. Carbon fibre wrap on the scratch plate Metal knobs on the pre amp. Couple of little dints as it has been gigged but no huge gouges or 'road worn' aesthetic. Nice looking and playing bass with no neck dive. Would consider a trade against Yamaha 424x or 425x Other wise priced £100 or so less than a new one, with the additional hardware.
  10. £1350 This is a beauty of a bass. I bought it and unfortunately soon after the volume control failed on the pre amp. I prefer Aguilar pre's anyway, so went for the OBP-3 taking it to a 3 band EQ from the stock 2. Stacked Bass/Mid treble and switchable frequency selection. If desired i can also fit a parallel/series switch for the Humbucker. (planned but not done..) This has buckets of output, Superb tonal range all in a great build quality (great piece of Ash on this) absolutely nothing to comment unfavorably on. other than the Key on the G string is slightly (and I mean slightly) out of line. Nothing to hinder good operation. Frets are perfect. No huge scratches or Dints. Previous owner put a bit of play wear onto the scratchplate (tort) I have carbon wrapped it, suits imho easily removable if desired. This bass has some presence about it for sure. Located in Kent, Will meet up for fuel and coffee costs within reason. Can courier at buyers expense. Scammers: I am really not so dumb to think a 'courier' will bring payment dont ask as i will be quite unkind in my response., Trades option added, price parity or bass+cash depending on what you have...ask me.. bank xfer or paypal works, cash with personal presentation etc
  11. £340 Here is a lovely Cort GB series bass in metallic blue with Rosewood board. Some changes from stock: Fender Hi Mass bridge Wizard '84 pickups Carbon fibre wrapped scratchplate Guyper two band pre amp (vol, vol, stacked treble/bass) , no extra routing for the battery so could easily be reverted to passive. Nice tonal range from motown thud all the way out to a Geddy Lee like punch. Nicely put together in very nice condition. Will consider trades, let me know what you have..i am particularly interested in a Sub 4HH, sire's including M series or a nice p bass. PM me if you have a mind for a trade.
  12. ok a couple of weeks in and tbh i havent used it much. first impressions hold, its well made etc, but starting to get the impression that after spending £250 i have to spend a bunch more to access more amp models etc which isn't the impression given by the sales blurb. so ok its a platform, but a starting point of more useful amp models etc might entice. cant seem to find any amps i want anywhere... Bank holiday weekend beckon so going to spend some more time with it...right now not sure if i made a mistake buying it or not
  13. A friend of mine is going to cut an acrylic 4H plate for me..did you create a file that i can use in the end please?
  14. First impression, nicely made, sounds ok. From the sales blurb what available on purchase, what's suppiied, what's downloadable for free and what costs isnt at all clear. The stock bass amp is 'ok'. @uk_lefty did you buy the SWR model or just download it for free?. cant find it myself but haven't got too involved yet.
  15. Here we have a very nice and upgraded version of the Ray25CA 'classic' bass Alnico Musicman humbucker (stock) '77 retrovibe stinger pre amp (upgrade) Parallel/series switching (upgrade) Rosewood (or similar) fretboard Maple Neck Aluminium scratchplate (upgrade) Plays great, very little play wear certainly no huge divots anywhere. I have a ray34 i am hoping to acquire so have priced this keenly. All the usuals, shipping paid for by buyer or pickup/meetup a possibility. Usual clearance of funds etc secures sale.
  16. Well, here we go. My man cave has 17 basses, two computers tools for fixing basses rokit5 monitors...and currently a 15" cab and a variety of bass heads.. ranging from 2000w (yeah ok the bugera 2000w...try 700 ish) to 1000w darkglass. In a 10*8 room thats...cosy. Been slowly transitioning over to phil jones cabs and the drift to smaller amps and cab got me a-thinking. Too much firepower for sure. Decided on a £260 investment into the spark will be the answer to finding some floor and perhaps some new tools for practice etc. The sales video looks the biz..so i'll let you know how its copes with a sheehan attitude, a dingwall combustion, and a sandberg vm5.
  17. you after a p/j....might know of someone who is thinking of selling
  18. Superb Japanese build quality, lovely basses, had one, and rather stupidly sold it. Missed this one by a hairs breadth..dammmit
  19. Solution found. I checked the intonation on the bass and found it to be way out. The bass had been in storage for a good few years, and the saddles were actually stuck together. Cant believe that the thing ever was in tune...who knows. Stripped the bridge down, thorough clean. Reset the intonation correctly and that solved the issue. I assembled the tuning mechanism without the top plate to see where the string blocks sat an the one securing the offending d string was 1mm from being maxed out. Went over the whole bass full set up and boom shes up and running again with one very relieved ex-session player/owner.
  20. I was contacted by someone who owns a s5000 status, apparently having issues with the strings length...as in one being slightly too long. Anyone else out there had (and hopefully solved) this problem??? Is this a brand problem i.e is one band the best and the rest...just not worth the effort...for status basses that it.
  21. Blimey a silverface MB. Had me a P501 for many years luckily i have overspent the GAS budget for a while.. GLWTS
  22. I 'think' this used to be mine. G&L basses are hugely underrated and unjustly so. Smaller than a P bass so light on the shoulder and the US pickup that is 'powerful' as in a bite from a shark is a bit 'nippy'. Great basses and the build quality far outstrips the price point. The detuner doesn't flap at all in drop D if its was mine/is the same as mine. GLWTS
  23. SB-2's are the stealth bass for sure, gig monsters! They are awesome. The two volumes layout is deceptively flexible. Love mine, butempty pockets after some purchases dictate i cannot buy, what a colour! GLWTS
