1. +1 All gorgeous, but I just can't keep my eyes off that Ray. I love it when something so simple has that effect on me.

Hi

Howdy Dave, welcome to't forum.
3. Watching Grosse Point Blank last week I was thinking: What music would be played at my 10 year reunion? The White Stripes? The Dandy Warhols? The Hives? Muse? Linkin Park? Sigur Ros is the only popular modern band that I've found mildly interesting. This site is quite good for seeing what people are listening to: http://www.gracenote.com/map/
4.
Check out WHAT DUCK DUNN My cassette version is worn out, now, anyone got the CD version?
You can get Blues Brothers books. I haven't, but I assume the bass will be close. -- +1 to Duck love.
5. Is it quite sad that I think being a librarian would be the coolest thing ever?
6. To catch you mid-fit, all this stuff is really impressive. I'm fast finding how paramount the cabs are. Is there anywhere in the forum/wiki that attempts to explain these graphs and the like?
7. I think they're a bass that you can rely on to fit into a band. Jazzes usually sound too thin or prominent for me. They may not be awe-inspiring in the shop, but they'll cut the best track. Despite them doing this since the '50s, it seems many bassists are only starting to figure this out. I blame the '80s.

Hi All

Welcome to the forum, Adrian. I think people will get taller with evolution. Perhaps in a few centuries your DB will be considered hand-luggage.

Hi

Ooh, detailed post. Lovely. Welcome along, Martin. The Rockbass is fullscale, surely?
10.
OK, I'll give it back now...
Cheers for the info, tauzero

13.
Hi Paul, I'm based in Bristol/Bath area. I've got some photos here (in bass section), however it needs updating with some recent additions of Ibanez Blazer, Aria Lazer & a Mazeti 330 Ricenfaker. Lost my camera USB lead! http://www.flickr.com/photos/9336149@N08/sets/ Cheers Nick
Lovely gear, Nick. Hope you've got a fourth string on that Shaftesbury by now
14. I like the name . I'll have a listen next time I've got headphones on.
15. lubly. Again, there's a tone that you can rely on.
16. Of all those, I like the first one best.
17.
Understand where you're coming from there Jon. Having said all that, new drummer & guitarist in band I'm in, are loving all my basses . Where there's a will there's a way! Make the band fit round your Japcrap - I have!
Have you got any pics of your collection, Nick? And where abouts are you in the sou-weh, if you're non-too secretive?
18. Welcome to the forum, Edd. And to the world of bass. Keep an eye on your bass near the temperature changing equipment behind. The wood in the neck can be quite sensitive to such things.
19. Welcome callum. Nice one finding the forums so soon after starting. Have a search, you'll find some fantastic advice.
20. That looks fantastic! There's definitely something about blocks on a jazz that balance the whole look out.
21. I swear I remember your introduction. I must be going potty. Glad you're here, Steve.
22.
Get a red tort on that pronto !
with a maple neck? Maybe b/w/b, but it looks great as it is!
23. A classic!
24. +1
My wife and kid still love it. I was playing along to my band's live desk recording and I can manage most of it on the stick. I must be pretty much in tune as well as Mrs OldGit has no respect for my delicate feelings when pointing out poor tuning in my playng - she has a real orchestral training background .. She's said nowt aboout it so far .. She likes my trick of stepping over the bass and going around the neck pole dancing whailst playing one number that's just G and D - opportunities for cool stage moves spring to mind All in all I think I'm getting on Ok with the we beastie ..
