1. Hey snicks! Loved abokey dokey, a mish of styles but it really works. I've got that saved. And the tone of your Marathon on Recent Lie is.. to.. die. for. Will listen to monkey notes tomorrow. It's a big file and my intranerts playing up. Your music certainly sorts mice from men .
2. +1 to the insightful chaps above. happy, humbling music that's very addictive. I think you guys will do really well. A bit rough and ready, as you say, but the arrangement is inspired; very professional. EDIT:- Love the band name too!
3. drat! You're so far away. I think an acoustic is definitely something that requires playing first. Are you going to the bassbash? I don't think I will be, but this could swing it. What strings are on it currently?
4. Still, it's very interesting. I think there are Warwick, Lakland and Fodera(?) vids on youtube as well as plenty of guitar ones. I like to watch machines putting frets in.
5. Kind of gimicky. Like throwing everything at it: quilt top, inlays, binding... Where's the purpose and conviction? I guess it's a couple extra quid invested to make it stand out. EDIT:- £500
6. It's a sexy start! Zebrano's really grown on me. It used to conjure up thoughts of '70s sideboards, but now I'm really into it. Will have a look what warmoth says about it. And will frequent this thread for updates.
7. I like to hear a warm thud. A warm thud suits a band situation best. Need I say more?
8.
I don't think it helps me play bass that much though - I think those with long slender fingers would be better off. I've got big banana fingers (or so a previous singer used to always introduce me!)
I'm very jealous! I bet they bring great tone. Welcome to the forum.
9. evenin' and welcome, Spider.
I hope it popped up first when you put basschat in google..... Welcome!
It appears when entering 'uk bass forum'. I don't think it used to, though.
10. Even scarier... does a well placed decal make it original? This is one of the reasons I was drawn to my P-special. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h197/fun...8_/PICT0974.jpg There just isn't going to be a decal for it.

12. Will they have different colour options on the DD?
13. I think getting a good neck is most important. Then body wood. I assumed SXs were reliable here considering their popularity. 'though the necks do look very orange.
14. Welcome from a fellow Southener, Alice. You sound like a natural on the low end. Let me know where you're doing shows with the jazz group, I need some more inspiration to take up upright. paul. (lazy transverse bassist)
15. It'll be nice to see a few more Lakkys coming up used in a year or so's time.
16. You have such a brilliant taste in tone. What do you think is the best bass you've owned? (In all respects)
17. Well I can't get the seller to confirm whether he'll post to the UK or how much. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=150223662860 It's right purdy to look at, though.
18. Howdy, welcome to't forum. Congrats on starting, hopefully you'll learn a few things bassy beginners often miss by joining the forum so soon.
