1. Nice one! Sounds like you did a great job. Bloods fine as long as you don't faint mid-way through. 'Though it could make for a dramatic ending to a macabre solo.
2. I was thinking of selling my '50s Jazz once I've moved to Obscure Scottish Island. 'Though once I'm there I can have the bass delivered, in-person, via Persian princess on phoenix back. Insurance is expensive due to airplane turbine accidents. It's LPB with a tort guard. Non-original hard-case.

5. I think both the clips sound reassuringly double-bassy. And they're much appreciated! Thanks.
6.
paul, the : not the waterlogged one from eBay, no. I think that one was almost unsaveable ! This one was spotted by a fellow BC'er in a little second hand guitar shop in Beccles sitting very unloved at the back of the shop. £200 later and it was in my house and awaiting a pretty refin :-)
Sweet find, you lucky bugger
7.
If that's in reply to my post, maybe I should clarify myself?! I grew up listening to Motown, stevie wonder, bob marley, the beatles etc etc. All the bass is kicking out lots of low end, lots of "classic grooves" etc, very good bass lines and bass playing. Then I listened to primus, and I remembered that i'm a musician in a band, and I can do whatever the hell I like as long as it sounds good.
Fair enough, Tom. Sorry about my prejudice. 'Though one of the main things that draw me to Motown is the understated 'more'. It's probably the rare and special thing from the background in jazz that put solid, rhythmic, yet melodic basslines into the popular context. You know this anyway, as JJ, nate, fams and Mccartney all did it to different extents. Wonderful bassists. Good upbringing

Sounds like it's going to be a real sweet bass, nash. I wonder how much of his business is from BC.
9. Ohh, she's lovely. Can't wait for some clips. And the tuners make me so happy
10. I used to harmonize during jam sessions. I think my pitch is right, my head tells me the pitch is right. Everyone tells me my pitch isn't right.
11. Hey there. That's a quality set of heroes. Welcome to BC.
12. Ta muchly for your help, guys.

14. Message from TheJazz;
As you may already be aware, theJazz is to close at the end of March. I wanted to thank you for the support that you have given to us over the past 15 months. Moving forward, I would like to let you know about the exciting plans we have for jazz fans on Classic FM. We remain committed to supporting jazz music and the musicians who make it and in a major step we are introducing jazz to the station with a two-hour show, seven days a week. From today (February 25), Helen Mayhew presents her programme on weekdays, while Tim Lihoreau will present at the weekend, each of them on air from midnight to 2am. Another familiar voice from theJazz joins Classic FM when Margherita Taylor joins the presenter line-up too, hosting Smooth Classics at Six every evening. You can also hear Mark Forrest , from theJazz's breakfast show, on Classic FM on weekday afternoons from three o'clock. These Classic FM Jazz programmes will be on FM as well as DAB and in addition, you can hear them at your leisure because the programmes will be available for you to listen at any time of the day or night, up to a week after broadcast through Classic FM's 'listen again' service, which can be accessed if you click here. We do hope you are able to enjoy the new programmes. Darren Henley
15. Nice one Sk8! My dad had a Hohner guitar which played very nice indeed.
16. I listen to "What's Goin' On" with Jamerson on bass and then a later live version without JJ. That's enlightenment.
17. Great job! Your hard work has definitely paid off. This wasn't the waterlogged one was it?
18. I hear a tone I like and then I become conditioned to the appearance of a bass. e.g. Hear Jamerson -> suddenly like the tail flick on a P. Hear Stuart Zender -> Streamers become irresistible Flea/BE -> MMs are the schmex Hear Andy Fraser -> Eb-3s are irresistable etc.etc. Product placement is so important. So the tone is always the cue for me. Unfortunately, more often than not, there's a billion pound backline behind them. So instead, I just GAS for a nice sounding upright. I can rationalise that.
