1. Flicking through the tele channels yesterday I stumbled upon The Kenny Drew Trio. Wow. Looked online to find out who the bassist was, saw the acronym and remembered seeing it on BC. I taped a later showing and have watched it four times since. Brilliant player.
2. Lidl trolleys are rental only. It's a reflection of demand in the housing market. And their muesli is orgasmic.
3. Oh just look how it suits my avatar!
4. I think I should probably own a 32"er
Mmmh... Olympic White... I love my Mustang. It has a very distinct character and is a joy to play. Fender Japan rules! I´m going to record with a blues/folk singer soon and I´ll bring one of my P basses and the Mustang. Should be fun.
I want one! 'going to record' -do share
5.
also has receipt of original price of 850 so absolute bargain
I once bought a jumper in a charity shop and the sales assistant asked if I wanted a receipt. I said sure and she gave me a Toymaster receipt for an Action Man doll dated from two years ago. That was awesome.
6.
Yep - Ibanez 2354LB - the "L" is the long scale version. These were an early Fujigen factory design, so will be out under different brands too, likely Greco & Antoria. I think these had a slotted headstock. 1972 catalogue: http://www.ibanez.ru/info/catalog/1972/09.jpg There will be others from other factories too - they were copies, after all. J.
Cheers Jon! Although the ad suggests they're not Mahogany. And 11" deep would be quite a challenge
And wasn't someone looking for a long-scale EB3?
Aye, that's the one. I suspect I stopped looking because I couldn't afford one. I still can't but it's good to know they exist. That bass is lovely.
7. Hi Mike, many a mag series users on BC! And it's great to hear the forum's already coming in handy.
8. So (to anyone) is there a serious book with a lovely learning curve? I was thinking of just inquiring about notation but I find it difficult to know the best position to play a note with notation.
And at the end of the day, set goals, and manageable ones at that. (IMO) Mark
9.
Just in case that so-called Framus prototype didn't quite hit the spot, why not try ... No sympathy there. DAAAM.
10. Hi Leo, you're non too far from me. That sounds like some good reuniting gear. And I, too, lust for a some Marshy valves.

Hey

Howdy Dan, Yea, I've heard some Groundhogs tracks. Quality blues-rock. They're still at it aren't they?
12. Howdy Stuart. Welcome to't forum
13. I feel really sorry for it in a Hunchback of Notre Dame kind of way. I hope a good home is found for it.
14. Welcome Bill. That's some very cool previous band experience. Anything you particularly miss? So what Lakkys 'n' Fenners you gots?
15. Welcome to BC, Si. ORCHID - what a cool band name.
16. I'm sorry to hear that jono . It ought to be their problem if they don't get the right information from you over the phone. A quote should be a quote. I think I would have have had a rant. It's not god enough. So they had the package and asked for more money? Did you have any options?
17. Congratulations! I really mean that. I love to hear about tone success.. especially when valves and 412s are concerned. I'm already practicing yoga for a strong back for when I can afford a man's rig.
18. Surely mixing Spector with Warwick would cause a parallel imploding vortex?
19.
Ok, courier has delivered. Will give some impressions later when I get home .
Are you doing the full shabang? Sound clips?
20.
Got the volumetric weight of the Peavey, a hefty 41.37, but that sounds about right. No idea of the actual weight though, the amp is 37kg, but there's a lot of packaging. Do I phone APC with the weight and they tell me the cost?
Just have the weight, volumetric weight and address of the receiver at the ready and they should give you a price over the phone and tell you when the item is expected to be picked up.
21. Welcome Stu. Played a Mexican Fender quite recently - it were looverly.
22. I'd check if you're concerned. I wouldn't mind betting that many think they're insured but, ultimately, the courier service wouldn't compensate in case of damage for a standard bass/guitar.
23.
Increasingly finding myself not using the bridge pup on my p-special. Especially with flats.
Scrap that, been playing at the bridge all night. Choices are fun.
24.
How about calling it 'The Knowledge BASS'
My mind has just been blown.
