1. oh, quite like the look of that bass! I like your band. Chilled. I'll come see you next time I'm in Yorkshire. itp, paul.
2. Cool interview. I can't get bass out of this laptop, though. Will have a listen with headphones later. Great find.
3. I think you're right, Jack. And thanks for bringing up an old post. --- Anywho, here's some fresh'nes of my P-special and Kustom. Sorry about the quality - bad camera and I have the shakes. itp, paul.
4. Well alright then. Now I get to see Hugh-Fearnley Wittingstall cry.
5.
How was it too far? Do you not see the joke? I cannot believe it was edited. I don't even think the URL exists! It was in response to the post above that contained some shameless plugging (nothing wrong with plugging - don't get me wrong). It reminded me of those comments on popular YouTube vids where spammers write "Earn $$$$ by visiting here www.getrichquickmoron.com" or "Meet horny girls in your area" etc, etc. My response was in reference to that. So why was it edited??
Yeah I got it. I assumed the link was either active (and adult) or distastefully named. (I didn't see the post before it was edited) I've got no beef with it if it didn't. Although, why would it have been edited?
6. To be on topic. I really like Tal's playing. Her solos are 'cool'. That is to say they are tasteful and melodious without being overly sentimental.
7.
Well, I think that yes people should "be themselves", sure. Thats all great. There is no excuse for being disrespectful or thoughtless when it comes to posting on a public forum. We welcome all on here and as I have said already, it only takes a minority to spoil it for others by not thinking before they post. Unfortunately for the moderating team, it makes us busy, when we'd rather be playing bass too. The moderating team do discuss such topics together in order to make this forum a nice place. It's the best bass one around, I think.
I hadn't thought about it properly from a moderator's point of view before. The fact that it makes a voluntary role more taxing is a very fair comment. This was too far, the BBC. Although now you know what'll get edited.
8. Howdy Ram. Quite the exceptional taste you have!
9.
I like this idea that people can be or not be "themselves" if people aren't being themselves then who are they being???
a Utopian idea. Sorry, I know 'be yourself' is a cliche. I just like a bit of vibrancy and diversity. I don't like people being diluted by another's ideals.
10. I just want to thank everyone for a really interesting read! +1 to a one-on-one with a good tutor on a regular basis. That's assuming you're not one of the 0.1% that are a musical genius. I'm a traditionalist, though. It wasn't really the case for me but I think music should be brought up in everyone as a part of life: You've probably already seen this :
11. Hi Ted/David. Welcome to't forum! Geddy Lees are v. popular here. Sounds like a good choice, indeed.
12. Aye, as long as the neck's alright and it's comfortable you can become a great musician. Some don't even need that much. I've got one of these just in case you get Trace hungry, though.
13. I like it when people are being themselves. Some women are crude too. Post a six-pack on a girly forum and look at them swarm. I'm jealous; I wish I wasn't so inhibited. We're not all mild-mannered bassists. Trying to restrict others is a horrible way to deal with it, in my opinion. I've yet to see malice. Not from the accused anyway...
14. welcome jazzee, Zeppelin trib' band - cool beans!
15. ohh, excited. Where aboots are ye? paul (Weymouthian)
16. Cute bridge. I'm tempted just so I can make use of my gold pickguard
17. Increasingly finding myself not using the bridge pup on my p-special. Especially with flats.
18.
fair enough. But he put 21 frets on his guitars so why not his basses as what i'm thinking really.
Intonation went out of the window a long time ago when it comes to the size of strings they used to use. Oh, and I often play with my thumb for a 'bigger', softer tone.
19. Hi Charlie - Welcome! [s]Hamster[/s] paul
20. That's so cool! I can't explain it but it's even cooler than if it were all of one brand. Oh and great rug and lead! What bass do you play through it?
21. Regardless of the philosophy behind it; I like the way these instruments look! The fact is, one of those teles would give me the warm and fuzzies walking into a room and would cost a tenth of the price.

23.
I'm confused about APC's charges. I can't find anywhere where I can find a quote. Would I be better to phone the nearest depot to find out how much it'll cost? It's Peavey combo that weighs roughly 40kg.
dlloyd has sent a 40kg combo from Dundee to Hampshire for £30 if that's any help. link
24. I'll add USPS. I'm going to link to individual posts in the relevant information bit as well. I've finally worked out how to link to posts jono b, you probably need a postcode at hand if you're going to give APC a ring. Forgot that. You should inquire about insurance if you're interested in it - it seems different APC stations have different availability regarding insurance. Considered UK SameDay? They're associated with APC, it seems, but with different options.
25.
I should have one for review this month .
n1! The Mondial Classic would have been my preference, also. Sweet.
