Hola

lolo slowbo, Where are you in Spain?
3. I love the Antiguan finish. I've yet to see one in the flesh but the pics I've seen make me dribble.
4. Have a look at motown tracks on youtube. I've seen a few mms on there, hopefully with flats.
5. Bound to be something here.
6.
MB1. 70.77% of all Cat Owners (who expressed a preference) Preferred Whiskas!
It worries me that the owners feel they have personally sampled enough brands to say that Whiskas is the outright leader. Someone in the Whiskas R&D got the survey guidelines very wrong.
7. Someone ought to do a BassChat covers book. I'd buy it.
8. I learnt Birdland the other day. In the music it says he uses a ghost note but it sounds like a beastly growl when you listen to it. I don't think I'll get that sound. --- my dog is wagging his tail in his sleep.

They're not so popular in the UK. Presumably this is because they were just too heavy to be economically shipped over while marshall/orange etc. were building a brand in the UK. I have no experience of their modern amplification. If you compare it to other amps in your price range and you prefer it; go for it. I don't think you'll get a lot of response with the thread subject. If you perhaps change it to an amp search, you'll get more feedback and potentially make a more informed decision. Best of luck though, and let us know how it goes.
10. We had an Encore. I died inside when I picked that up. We also had a keyboard amp that gave electric shocks. You had to play all three acoustic guitars at once to be able to strum six open strings. I donated them my practice amp when I no longer needed it. --- On the other hand, students were aloud to borrow the double bass and cellos.
11.
dark Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard
Is that why it appears a lot darker than modern Fender basses? I had a '62 RI and it was beautiful except for the grainy, light brown fb. Ruined the whole look of the bass, imo. -- It's absolutely beautiful, of course. Even the pot gives me tingles.
12. This makes me want to study musicology. Fascinating.
13.
If you do, let me know and I'll have the Fender Bridge off you - will be miles better than the bit of bent tin on my cheapo!
I'd keep all the original parts. mcgraham has one for sale: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8653&hl= ---
Man, that's a handsome bass! Congrats on a good find and welcome to the world of fettling cool.gif
Ta, clauster. It feels good. No longer scared of my muso.
14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Aria-Pro-II-...emZ140180328120 I'd have a couple of these if it weren't for the painted neck. The last Cardinal 380 in the US sold for £44 if I recall correctly.
15. I think it's a wonderful thing! lwtait is on the road to bassy nirvana. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous.
16. Congrats, Adam! That's a smart setup fosho. Now to impassion the world with bassy goodness.
17. Tort! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8564&hl= -and it looks much better in the flesh. The DiMarzio set with the model J (not the ultra) is my favourite for a vintage tone that I've heard. Hear clips of the model J here.
18. Thanks, Simon. And thank you to everyone else who helped. I used the content and all the links - great stuff! If I make some money at any point I'll go the full hog with TI flats, badass, case, strap etc. That's if I don't want it drilled for covers. Thanks again, guys, paul.
19. DONE. piccers: When the paul raises his arms; wintery appendages are adorned. The Precision in its former demi-glory. Too much up-bow. Boooooo. Of't come knoblers. Click fingers. Pickguard gone! Truss rod key, attack! Found a handy caliper majigger. Decided penis girth is inadequate. VIP card provided greatly needed self-esteem boost. Eyes thwarted by metal. Done. In motion. Not plugged in. Lovely acoustic tone 1997 US P-special (J-neck, J-pup, vintage passive electronics).

Should take the slowly tender approach or are we talking slacking off a couple of tones? ta, paul.
Done it. It was no problem. Surprisingly quick and easy.

Always slacken the strings before adjusting the intonation otherwise you'll risk stripping the thread of the intonation screw...or ripping the screw head completely off. 22. Hey Dave, Welcome to the forum. Friend of mine I used to give lessons to had a Peavey millennium bass, I think it was called. What great basses! Yammys and Peavey have really stole the show in that market.
23. Nathan Watts is the archetypal bass player in my opinion. He's where it's at. I have the music for I Wish if anyone's after it.
