1. Look at the hand body language. It says so much. Great pic, guys. Slightly unfair that Simon has that much hair and a soul patch. Soul patch
2.
Not wishing to pre-judge anyone, it could explain some of the reponses I got from the original seller IF he and ZPQ are one and the same OR ZPQ bought it after my successful bid. Leaves me in a bit of a dillema as I don't reckon e-Bay will do anything but I have been waiting for it to resurface.
The email addresses aren't the same are they? I guess that would be too easy. --- Sorry for all the posts
3.
was the bass in the pic even his?
Ahhh. Could have lifted one of ZPQ's. Although I'm surprised he wouldn't have noticed it or used the very same in the BC listing. Still, too 'coincidental' that they're up for sale at similar times for me.
4. Just so my innocent faith in humanity isn't completely blown out the window, I will assume that ZPQ contacted the seller with a higher offer. Original seller thinks, "hayhey a hundred squid above market value." ZPQ marks-up another hundred and puts it up for sale. What ever the circumstances, there must be some degree of shadiness going down.
5. Just letting you know; there's a Schroeder 1210 on ebay. £400-450
6. The Precision is the sexiest bass in the world. In tones and looks. Before I found out about Jamerson that pickguard tail gave me goosebumps. I think the j-pup at the bridge ruins the look a bit but it's a worthy trade-off.
7.
That's true actually, they do look the same, but who knows, that ZPQ dude has even posted in here has he not? And he posted it for sale here... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6881&hl=
Agreeing with me to leave the 'seller' alone!
8. You're such an observant lot. I feel embarrassed and it's nothing to do with me.
9. My gut says stick with piano. Although, if he's been persistent with requests to learn bass it might be best for him. Gah, that's a horrible situation. I played piano for a short while when I was 8 and quickly gave it up. I really regret it now and I would regret it more so if I had gotten to a competent level. I've just started learning somemusic on piano and it pains me to think how good I would be if I had stuck at it for 10 years. But I wasn't interested at the time. If your lad still enjoys practicing and learning piano despite a pining for bass, I would urge him to carry on with piano. I'm sure a lot of the best bassists were ex-pianists/organists (Steely Dan, Zeppelin...). I reckon there are ways of doing both though. Perhaps just suggesting learning the notes on the fingerboard or theory that's shared with both instruments.
10. Will there be a designated BassChat reporter?
11. I haven't reserved the African book or anything, so it's up for grabs as far as I know. Still pondering it over.
12. Took your sweet time Mark. Welcome to't' forum. Keep us updated on the amp search.
13.
Would I be controversal if I said "his fingers" at this point? -hey, just kidding.
No, you're right. I don't think he'll be swapping it for Washburn and Line6 anytime soon though. No disrespect to the users of aforementioned companies. To each his own.
14.
What type fret board do you have? It could have been treated with Lemming Oil? BTW, PRS polish smells very nice.... Polish mine twice a year and they smell lovely after for a few weeks...
squeezed lemmings.
15. bump for a charity bargain. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KAWAI-ORIGINAL-AQUAR...1QQcmdZViewItem
16. Hi, it's not an attack or anything but the new posts don't seem to be refreshing as they normally would. I'm still seeing threads that haven't been updated since yesterday. Just bringing to attention. groovy, paul.
17. Can you tell me anything about the African bass book? Colour me interested.
18.
I am sure its more of a "ill play what i want and not advertise anyone" thing rather than a stunt. I imagine warwick and trace payed his lots back in the day to play their gear and he feels he isn't going to promote anyone anymore. G
I think he ought to be proud of what produces his sound.
19. It looks like you won it presoulnation. Congrats!
20.
cant comment on the sound or playability, and the ad wording is a bit cheesey, but the bass looks quite classy, like a lakland copy <a href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Electric-Bass-Guitar...1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Electric-Bass-Guitar...1QQcmdZViewItem</a> and the sunburst is also a bit of a looker http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/E-J-Bass-de-luxe-Le-...2QQcmdZViewItem
The second one just says 'Solid Body'. They look great though.
21. I think Sparky is after a TE 115. I'll PM with a link. I don't know where he is though.
22. Does anyone know if the V-Amp or V-Amp pro is able to produce the same/similar effect to the BDi 21? Ta, paul.
23.
Just seen this bass on evilbay ...
