Hold me back! Hold me back! Just get hold of the Funk Drops records and the Eccentric Soul records. You'll never be the same. Oh, and get a horn section prompt like

Sounds great, do you know how much the Bob Glaub weighs? I know the JO skylines are quite heavy.
Soft spots? Tricky question. Sophie's Choice, really. I love ALL my children - sometimes I just prefer to spend my time in the company of a select few of them, but that selection changes day to day.
It's great to hear they all go to good use. I don't think I could afford such an eclectic taste Be sure to put up some pictures of the Roscoe when she's ready. chin chin, paul.

I'm sure you'll get some attention with that bunch. Do you have a certain special soft spot for one of your basses? How do you rate the Bob Glaub? And welcome to Basschat

I can see G&Ls becoming BCs new BKs. Don't Lakland make something similar? There's always one on ebay. I wonder how they compare..

You're all about the bargains now aren't you? You could try them and see. I've bought EB strings from Ebay (badly spelled) for £3.50.

Bootsy Collins for his playing with The Houseguests, the SINGLE GREATEST funk band to ever have existed. This is the equilibrium of FUNK. It's in between the uptight slavery of the JBs and the over-the-top cheese-funk of George Clinton. It's simple, raw, honest funk with astonishing bass lines and excellent tone. Perfection, just ahead of The Meters. Oh!, looky here, I've found a clip: http://www.last.fm/music/Houseguests

Nice to meet you too Mimi, welcome to BC. That Dean sounds lurvely.
Hey guys I signed up the other day after reading a review about the ACG preamp, as I had a question to post, but after reading around a bit I found this is a pretty cool place, I'll probably stick around a while. My name is Micah - I live over in Canada. I have been playing for about 5 years. My bass is an Ibanez SR405 - not the greatest bass, but it has done me well. I am going to start playing in a bar band coming up soon, so I need a new bass, which will be a Warmoth swamp ash P-Bass body (with their 72 style pickguard) with a jazz bass neck (probably ebony on maple, but possible bloodwood on canary wood) and a custom Fralin single coil P-Bass pickup in it. The colour will be spectra blue with a white pickguard, for those interested. I may put in the ACG preamp but I am not sure yet. The rest of my rig is a Markbass LittleMark II amp into their back ported 4x10 cab. I don't use much in the way of effects - just a BBE Sonic Stomp that is always on, then a Diamond Fireburst distortion and a Diamond Memory Lane delay. All the links in this post go to the products, as most of them mentioned are either American or Canadian companies, and I do not expect you all to know of Warmoth or Fralin pickups.
You have excellent taste and a bass I will be berry jealous of (although I don't like blue). Fralin, lush. Jazz neck, lush. P body, lush. What strings will you be using? 'elcome.

I've got to be honest, I miss the tort'. But it's still stunning. *melting*

Squier JV. Your views on this authenticity!

He's put squier in lower case. Ahhh, simple pleasures. -
I just don't gig enough. I didn't gig enough when I was younger either. Now that I'm settled into a relationship, I'm wondering what "extras" I missed. Have you ever pulled at a gig? I mean just by being on stage? I got close a couple of times. Once in Hemel - except the band decided to hold a post gig jam. I turned around and she split. Once recently but ... spoken for. Last saw her in get-a-room mode in the alley with a singer. So what did I miss? (stories - points for detail!)
Psychologists' field day!! What is this twerp blethering about?
paul, the replied to Oxblood's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Oh for goodness' sake.
sake? The most annoying thing about it is that the seller hasn't put EB-3 in the title. I hate that red finish, I would have thought there would have been more demand for a browner colour. --- He's put it into the wrong category as well. -
Are those beers cold. If so, can I have one please?
Yea, 'cause I keep my dining room at cool 4 degrees C

These really interest me. I love the tone on the Bedouin Soundclash tracks. I'm pretty sure he plays a semi-acoustic. Anyway, I've just seen one on ebay, not in the UK mind.
Thanks all! EOS 650 is Canon (camera) first camera in the EOS series. Plus, it's my first "real" camera. Next to bass, I also do quite a bit of film photography and have quite a few cameras. I do have a Flickr site that I have some of my "best" work uploaded to, but I didn't put it in my sig because it's not bass related..
Oh cool, I really liked the black and white shots and the colour shots with vintage nuance. I know nothing of photography though, so I shan't make a fool of myself. I shall just keep talking like I've had an eloquent tea party with Oscar Wilde. Basschat has a photography thread lurking in the shadows, perhaps you could bring it back to life and show off a few pics (works ).

Welcome! So you've had Bassual enlightenment? Every single one counts. Where did you get the handle? Was EOS649 taken? --- Best of luck in the world of bass! You'll love it.

I sniggered But seriously, new release '90s valve amps hmm interesting.

I keep my basses dirty, like my lovin'.

Those look quite nice. Normally headless instruments don't appeal to me but that wood is very nice. Although I'm against naming basses after family members. I shan't say why.

Welcome Simbass, You ought to be the one to introduce Jazz/Funk to lincolnshire. Make it happen.
