This is an excellent idea for a thread. I shall try to think of something.

They had a Dean Edge Hammer 4 at the music shop I used to work at. It was lovely, although the pickups got in the way a bit. That cheap guitar they do (les paul style) is quite nice also. A lovely tone, you all know the one I mean.

Oh, I like it. Not sure a black pg would improve it though. Gold certainly wouldn't Very tasty though.

Congrats man, pleased your pleased. I'll be listening out for you down south

Right, this is my main squeeze and Motown machine even though it doesn't look it. On paper, it is probably my perfect bass. A rare passive special. It has a jazz neck, which this picture poorly demonstrates. And I don't like the colour either, that's why I've never posted it before. Sorry about the ugly mute and bubble wrap This is my old main squeeze which, aesthetically, I greatly miss. A Fullerton '62 reissue. This was my first full scale bass, which I still own. It's a Samick MM copy. It's a little lifeless, but a nice player and the best neck I've ever played on. I should have gotten the Kustom Charger out for you (Miss. Sparkly Blue) but the cover is a tight fit.

Oh, I can't get those links to work. Would love to hear them.
no need to get ur knickers in a twist i was joking ok! and yes i'm sure my bass playing will have improved enourmously since i'm pretty sh*t atm. oh and btw i'm not just starting out, i've been playing for 2-1/2 years. I suppose you mean teenagers tho 'cos i doubt any under 13's would want to talk to most ppl on here. oh and paul my moodiness is caused by various mental health problems and ear problems which culminate in a complete lack of self respect.
Woah, woah, I was joking. Goodness, we are a terrible bunch. Trust me, I think you're a great guy. You come across wise beyond your years and I've got mucho respecti for you. Sorry if any comments came across in bad taste, playful was my intention. I'm always up for a mental issues fight , my head almost imploded a year ago.
16? What you doing up this time of night??? lol
Teenagers don't sleep. Or are at the very least we are inherently nocturnal. Why do you think we are so pissing moody? Actually, I attribute moodiness to Billie Holiday and cheap whiskey. No; humanity peaks at a child's wisdom. Whilst adolescence is snared into compassionate purgatory. Finally, maturity exists as awareness, denial and dissatisfaction. Until they witness their own child's wisdom. Music is the mistral that dispels the mist of cynicism. Reality is the tempest that welcomes its return. -- I'm a teen', but I'm not 'just starting out'. People should be starting out at around 9 or 10 or at least have a few years piano under their belts. I think I started at 12 or 13 with a Kay short-scale EB-0 style bass which a friend is currently borrowing. I have no pictures of it. Anyway, I hope to see some violin basses, Ibanezes, VMJs, Aria Pros, Toby Pros and the likes on here. In an idealistic world: small URBs.
I really wish I could make a decision .. upgrade pickups or put in a j retro
Hardly proper conversation over tea and biscuits, but you could haggle and purchase the best deal. Money is often excellent motivation for decision. Just a frugal thought.
Looks like they share some features Staggs do - possibly from same factory ? I'd say as a cheap backup bass you can't go wrong. As a main instrument ? No thanks. EDIT: I'd fancy this though.. kind of a Jaguar meets Stingray. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WESLEY-MARK-II-COUGA...oQQcmdZViewItem
I'm sure Wesleys are much nicer than Staggs. I don't think it's right that beginner musicians should have Staggs available to them.

I attribute good memory to bad sight reading Once I've learned a song on piano I don't forget it. It's taken so long; playing, then once making a mistake starting over. Or once you've correctly done as much as you can, you learn the next couple of bars. This extensive level of repetition conveniently encodes the information into the long-term memory. If it's a simple Motown or rock set, I'd just remember chord sequence, key riffs and improvise the fills for a personal touch.
You won't get 500w into your 4 ohm cab, you'd get 250w with the option of adding another 4 ohm cab to get 250w from each. As for price... There are cheaper options out there and several people have voiced concerns about reliability but TBH 250w or 500w it is a lot of amp for £199. It wasn't so long back that £199 would have bought you some hideous Chinese no brand cr*p... Oh sorry that is Ashdown isn't it!
Oh, you mitch!
