1.
Might be tough finding one of those. There's a short scale Aria on eBay that looks good, i.e. doesn't look "wrong" because of the short neck. Let's see how much that goes for.
There've been a couple on Ebay recently - do a completed listings search. One in England wanted £150 and didn't sell. One sold in America for £42. Lucky 'Merkins. -- I'm sure you know this but nut width makes a big difference to perceived scale length. As well as general meatiness of the neck.
 2.
Same one ! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3207&hl=
I know, I just found it Had to report as I'm sure I've seen them in wanted adds. They can't miss it now!
 3. I beat you to it. Sent you a message on Ebay as well! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3205&hl=
 4.
Try using your fingers. Seriously, when you see the rollcall of lines...complex lines played on P-Bass's,usually by ex-Uprightists,with skyhigh action and flats on them or total zoom about the fingerboard work of people like Entwistle or Steve Harris,I must ask are people copping out or what? The only thing a stock P cant do is be slapped, its tone is kak unless you change the P/U....dosent mean you cant play funk on one (George Porter jr). I have to question your freting hands technique. The P is the best Passive LRB available period.
The nut width on a Precision means that I have to jump about - it makes the frets seem huge. I can't hold all four fingers down on a Precision neck first fret F-Ab on the E string, I just can't. Sorry.
 5.
it's made by "cloumbus." no i haven't heard of them either. it was made in the 1970's
Quite a few BassChatters have been through them at one point or another. What do you think of the bass?

 8.
P's are hard for small handed players,I agree, but I learnt upon them and their ilk, both copy and realdeal. Some people just dont like them because they are typically Fender (i.e. just plain harder to play...ask most guitarists whats easier Strats or Les Pauls) and sadly there are just some...some....who are weak limp pansies who's heaven is a tonefree pencilnecked bad active cheapy Ibanez from the late 90s. Big necks = Big tone, argument END OFF. Seriously though Rich P's are hard, and they bugger your spine up esp Ash bodied ones. The big advantage of using a P is there are spares and replacment parts all over the world (Kinda like a Marshall amp) so they make good working instruments, plus theres less parts to break,or fiddle about with,so they make perfect sense. On the Status note, and the questions of why Im not a fan,I dont mind them but.. just ......try a Zon.
I had to sell my Precision because I couldn't play "Your Love Keeps Lifting me (Higher and Higher)" or "I Wish" without extreme pain. I prefer strats to lezzers (play wise).
 9. She'd go great with my Kustom Charger! Ol' sparkly blue.
 10. What are peoples' thoughts on columbuseseses? ta, paul.
 11.
As they should be. A cabinet's bass response is dictated more than any other factor by its size; the smaller the box, the less bass. The single most overriding reason why the vast majority of commercial cabs have performance well below what can be achieved is that visual esthetics and marketing concerns usually run roughshod over proper engineering. If engineers ruled the roost there would be no such thing as a 4x10 or a combo, as both concepts run totally counter to the notion of getting the best sound possible. In your case a larger box for the 15 and a smaller box for the 2x10 is a much better way to go than the other way around. OTOH, assuming the 2x10s are horizontally mounted to 'look right' you'll still be sacrificing utility for the sake of conventionality.
Any big box makers that aren't crazy expensive? My TE combo is pretty shallow, it felt pretty odd when replacing a Peavey 18.
 12.
'ello there, this is just a little vid of me band mucking about in our practice room.its nowt serious just a laugh-to be honest i forgot we put it on you tube. 13.
yeah full stop I will ask him full stop Guess i got over excited full stop here is some to make up ................................................................................ ................................................................................ .,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; Not sure if it is that one as i cant get your link to work. by fb do you mean feedback? cause the seller for my one had 100% from like 90 transactions. it is black with a black scratchplate and has an unlined, rosewood fingerboard if that helps.
Yes, that's the one - fretless. I don't know why Ebay links haven't been working recently. Anyway, It's a lovely looker, looking forward to seeing some home-made piccers.
 14. This one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ernie-Ball-L-H-Music...1QQcmdZViewItem Not a lot of fb to browse through, but it looks a great deal to me.
 15. I have one of these. Mahogany.....seriously..? The best way to describe this bass is that it's like your obese best friend. Wesley would have been a lot more practical, but Harley's the one you want at your back during a fight. He makes a lot of noise, has trouble fitting in, but you wouldn't trade him for the world. Unless you're called Ron and strapped for cash.
 16. Welcome C! Interesting handle, with even more interesting Google Images results paul

 23.
To be fair, Randy Jackson got his America Idol judge gig off the back of his bass playing resumé, didn't he? I thought Martin Kemp was the guitarist? He's good mates with Flea. There's a cool clip of a Flea instructional video from the late 80s floating around the net. If you look closely you'll see that the interviewer is none other than Jonny Depp.
He did one with River Phoenix in the '90s or is that a different one.
 24.
The JB75-94US range comes with ashtrays, binding etc. I think i've seen it in 3TS. THese are only about £317 or The JB75-100US range is as you described, minus the the tort guard and ashtray. You'd have to do it yourself. These are about £338 http://1484.bz/yokohama/select.cgi?id=16246
Thanks for the help! Obviously my Isihbashi navigation skills have more to be desired as I never found that yokohama site. I'm surprised the specs I described are in such short supply - I always thought that was the most stylised Jazz bass. I guess I'm wrong.
i dunno but i do have a japaneese bass that used to look exactly like that, but then some idiot lost the neck p/u cover and an even bigger idiot decided it would look better in DAYGLO green
What make is it? I've been considering going down the copy route for the vintage mojo and..well.. the hunt. I know Ibanez did one - although I don't like the finish. Pan did one (who's Pan?). Greco did one - I think, and is the one I'm most hankering for, although I haven't seen one in the finish I'm after. Also Aria Pro did one, which I quite fancy also. Wish me luck.
Thats exactly what I have on order, but with a maple neck! It's in coventry currently, I'm gonna go get it locally as soon as it arrives!
The Wailers' bassist (Aston Barrett) used that bass . I wonder what amp he used.
