Thanks White Cloud, I'll put them in the cupboard tomorrow ! Cheers Pete

Ah, thanks guys, I only asked about de tuning as just about every bass I've ever tried at a shop has been unpacked and hung up on a wall at least half a tone down, and I assumed it was like that from the manufacturers who couldn't possibly know how long it would be before that bass was sold/setup properly/tuned to pitch etc. also do you think it will be ok as long as the body is supported and the neck is not touching anything? Thanks in advance Cheers Pete

Not sure if this is the right section so mods feel free to move if there's somewhere better for this. I have a couple of basses that I wish to move on, but they seem to be sticking round here for a while. I don't use them, and they're just getting in the way in my music room/office. Neither bass has a hard case, but I have padded gig bags for them. My question is, will they come to harm if I down tune them a little bit, and store them upright in a cupboard with some padding between them from the floor to the top of the body, so that the necks are not touching, or leaning on anything at all?, ie free of stress, and covered by the gig bags. It seems that the basses may be here for some time, so I don't want harm to come to them, but also, I don't want them taking up floor/stand space either. Storage advice would be welcome, Please and thank you, Cheers Pete

WITHDRAWN Markbass 104hr FS/FT WITHDRAWN SORTED ELSEWHERE

Thats good to hear. The figures dont stack up for me though.

For sale or trade Markbass 104hr. Label says it's made in Italy. Bought less than three weeks ago driven home, and NEVER moved since then! £600.00 cash on collection , or I'm interested in lightweight neo cabs of the 410 8ohm variety from European manufacturers (including British makers). I may be willing to meet a reasonable distance for the right trade, but no big distances, and no travelling for cash sale, you have to pick it up. I repeat, this cab had never been used outside of the shop. Needless to say I'm not interested in other MB cabs. The cab is in Norwich, and is a standard cab, not a black line. What ya got? Cheers Pete

Ah Thanks for that.It rather rules them out for what I have in mind especially as the cabs I buy will have to be mix and match compatible with another head. I know that they will work after a fashion but theres just too much disparity in output vs ohms for my liking. Back to the search for a replacement rig then. Thanks again Cheers Pete

I need to know so that I can possibly look into what cabs I would need bearing in mind that I also would want to use my old UK ashdown head with the cabs. EBS amps run down to 2ohms but if thats where they get the watts rating from would mean the cabs I would have to buy wouldn't be what I want to use with the ABM.

Hi all, Does anyone out there know for sure what the output figures are for the TD350/360, and the TD650/660 into 8ohm, and 4ohm loads respectively? I can't seem to find out specifically from my initial searches. Thanks in advance, Cheers Pete

ASHDOWN ABM 410H EVO3??? Seeking knowledge...
tbonepete replied to Greg.Bassman's topic in Amps and Cabs
Hi Greg, There's always the ABM 610, it's sealed, has no horn, and is smaller than the 810. Until recently I had one and can say that it's quite heavy, but thanks to the heavy duty castors and top handle (as well as the side handles) it's not too bad to move around. I found it plenty loud enough for me but perhaps a bit too gritty in the mids for my taste. Cheers Pete -

Sorry I dont. Its a small white box with the ebs logo on and made in sweden. Its also says high cut/mid gain on the front. This is actuated by the toggle switch and gives a healthy dose of mid boost whilst cutting the high frequencies. The stacked bass/treble works as normal and the blend does just that, not like my fender which is more like a switch! The basses were originally sold by bernie goodfellow of GB guitars fame and he installed the pre as he was an EBS stockist. I cant find any reference to onboard pres on their website now so I assume its no longer available. Hope that helps. cheers Pete

Hi Minty fresh death, Im not sure of the weight as the scales are knackered, but its marginally heavier than my jazz v. Scale is 35" as per the first post. It balances well on the strap though and that was more important to me. All welcome to try, but as stated the bass is in Norwich although id be willing to travel a little way for the right trade ( no long distances or posting as its a cheapish bass). Thanks for the questions. Cheers Pete

Pm's replied to, Its a great bass with a strong output and a very clear, but not harsh tone. the highs really sparkle, think Miller type sound (could be the EBS pre?), and the bass is warm and full without being muddy. Mid gain/high cut switch is very musical, and allows the switch between a killer slap tone, and full on fingerstyle funk "on the fly"! To answer a couple of questions that have been asked, the bass weighs slightly more than my am deluxe jazz v, but the difference is really small. What it loses with the gain in weight over the Fender is it has no neckdive on the strap, and a bass that balances is more comfortable than a lighter one that doesn't (well to me anyway!). The bass will come with a serviceable gigbag, and a new battery box fitted (when it arrives to me).NOW DONE You're welcome to come and try, (kettle will be on!!!). A bass is my preference for a trade, but if you have £400 cash in your hand I won't turn you away! hehe!!! Pm me what ya got. Thanks for looking Cheers Pete

For sale or trade is my KSD proto-j 605, its a 5 string jazz a like, in classic sunburst with tort pickguard. Its a 35" scale with 3/4" string spacing, and features a 2 band EBS preamp with mid gain/high cut switch. Great finger style and slap sounds. A high mass bridge is also present, and the bass comes with a gig bag, its serviceable but in light of this it's collection only. The bass is in Norwich, and the kettle is usually on!!!. It's lightly used, but in tidy condition, with just some very light dings (that dont come out with my camera), and swirls commensurate with being played, but not abused! Cash wise I'm after £400, or trade wise I'm interested basses. I'm not really sure what sort of bass, so try me would be the best bet!!!, as long as it's a 34" scale, 4,5, or 6 string, passive or active I could be interested!. Condition is more important to me than age of bass, so pm me with your offers. BATTERY BOX REPLACED, AND JACK SOCKET TOO!!!
