It's not an unreasonable offer but the chances of finding someone with a 5 looking to go back to a 4 is 'probably' slim, add into the equation that it is a Sado/Sado deal that you want specifically makes it a narrower market; I'd have thought that selling it and buying a Sado 5 with the resulting cash would give you way more options... IMHO!
that's something that I'm slowly coming round to considering

Just received my new Valenti #42 bass today from Luke. so well packaged that a small explosive would have done no damage took some time for me getting funds and was more than happy to wait for me to do so! great communication and would deal with Luke again cheers bro

the good friend was me and totally agree! you could have walked in with £2k wanting to purchase and Sandberg of Fender and you would have come out with an Ibanez and £1600 change! the only thing I have played recently which has got my attention was the Fodera at Bass Day! that's with trying Alleva's, Musicman's, Dingwalls and Overwaters!
Ha,ha. I wondered if you'd spot this thread man. I'm sure I won't need to make any modifications if what everyone has told me rings true. I'm just curious and impatient. By the way, last night I told Billy Sheehan that I was picking up a Modulus and he didn't return too much enthusiasm. Maybe if I'd have told him I was getting a Yamaha and stringing it with Rotosounds, things would've been different Top bloke though.
haha! I would have expected that response from Billy! ignore him, he plays a Yamaha P bass !!

I am not sure that a badass II bridge would make that much difference to be totally honest .. it doesn't specify that they are an added extra on the Modulus or SMART website, so maybe there is no need/benefit. honestly, you are getting a bass guitar that offers a superb well balance sound that smacks you and on-listeners in the nuts! just thumb that E string when it's plugged into your GK rig and you'll make peoples eyes and ears bleed. I only have a Genz Benz 6 with a 300W Hartke cab, so I am not going to get the level of sound you are! I would love to hear it through your set up to be honest
Who\'s the guy in the back of this pic with the flat cap on?? Because he\'s done the same thing at every bassday i\'ve been to. Picked up a bass at a stand, Plugged into an amp, Turned it up loud, Turned around to purposely face into the room where everyone is, Then play really tasteless fast slap lines whilst starting at anyone who walks past. Then after 5 minutes of that he puts the bass down, Moves onto the next stand and does exactly the same thing.
I know who you mean haha .. but don't know him!
I can't believe how many people were there yesterday that I didn't meet (or recognise)! We definitely need to have an assigned time for a BassChat meet & greet - maybe at the bar, lol. I was also 'working' for most of the day with Phil on the BassGear stand so didn't get a huge amount of time to wander around.
we do need a gather point I was with ChrisDaBass trying out the Alleva's & Fodera's .. we were the giddy two who couldn't stop drooling over that Fodera NYC in red! haha
Oh yeah... question for you. Stuart Hamms bass paint job... Cool or crap?
AWESOME! I had a silver sparkle flea and loved it .. so, always going to like a red sparkle
I guess so. When demoing, Bernie always seems to favour these sounds as they are pretty much unique to his electronics and pickups. They can do the standard stuff though and emulate a lot of other bass sounds... but the "GB slap sound" whether you love it or hate it, proves a point - his basses stand out from the crowd, whether it be for the right or wrong reasons. It's the same with the LEDs... love them or loathe them, there was nothing else quite like them there yesterday. The basses aren't hissey, plug them into a desk and you'll see. With the treble up and going through those EBS rigs, that tweeter does give a fair bit of hiss out if you are close enough to hear it. I'm not defending anybody here though... everybody loves different things. Anyway, I thought the Xotic > Red Fodera. Certainly was the surprise of the day for me! Oh yeah, Matamp won best stand furniture yesterday... those uber thin amp frontages were genious!
It certainly had a unique 'slap' tone .. that I can not doubt. think I would have loved that sound about 5/6 years ago (I was well into Stanley Clarke and Mark King back then).
It's rare that I can pick up a bass and it feel comfortable... that one did feel pretty nice from the word go... and the preamp, as I stated before, seems really powerful and musical. The only thing I didn't like was that the neck looked a little anemic and pale but I could live with that I guess. It was certainly a surpise when I heard it plugged in. I really liked it. Really liked it!
I want to buy one
Ah! That was you who asked that question! The most 'awkward' question of the day for me, was the one that was asked by the guy who asked Billy about the four finger technique....
that question was just not even appropriate think that's why Billy asked him to repeat it like 3 times! what can you say to that???!!
What did u think to it? I really enjoyed playing that one
dude, from the youtube footage I have watched .. the Fodera still seems like a better bass! I bet you could find an additional £1600
