1. Seen it many times...and will see it many more. Every time Im staggered at just how cool and relaxed he looks, the guy is a real gifted musician, no fuss, no look at me, its as if he's simply saying..."well, Im just the bass player really" Rog, Pete and Keith are the band.........stunning.
2. Apparently pro-players prefer 5's cause brass sections like to play everything in Eb... Anyway getting back to the old bass thing....My 71 sunburst P wears a gorgeous deep red guard, and chunky neck.....not necessarily a great player etc but sounds fantastic and boy does it look good........Im happy.
3. B =77 cause 76, the first year is....A. I know this cause Ive got one. Im full of useless info...But hey.
4. Fender are pulling a fast one here I think. Sure the thin top coat is fragile ol nitro, but it sits atop a rock hard coat of poly sealer. Hardly true to a 60's finish.
5. Hi Guys, So you like MY..... Daphne Blue Highway eh!. But seriously. It is an early one and I personally think they are more attractive than the current 70's pretender lookalike thingy. I Looked at a 07 last year and that thin 'nitro' finish is I reckon cheap and nasty, it was heavy too. Reason Im selling, well I think Id still like to check out a custom shop or time machine model. I did try a 62 RI last year and the neck felt a lot chunkier than the skinny Hwy neck, which is more my thing. Anyways good luck with the bidding, as you can see its a great looking piece. Note
6. IW16, Hi. Great info. I'll take that onboard. Ian (thother one)
7. Well, cab wise I was looking at the Dr Bass series which is keenly priced. I cant afford two cabs so one will have to do. I guess as a minimum upgrade 350@4ohm would be about right. I like the look of the B2RE - 450@4ohm, but what about the little B1-RE 300@4ohm. Would the smaller amp be any improvement over my Hartke. Thks
8. Ok thks, Im not a pro player, but after years of playing through so so gear which mainly comprised of any old 15's I could lay my hands on, Im gonna take the plunge and invest in a 2x12 4ohm 800watt cab. Im not looking for any more volume I just want to be sure Ive got an amp thats not working too hard, or am I coming at this from the wrong direction. Ian
9. Does anyone have any experience of these amps. I need a 3 to 500watt upgrade from my Hartke 2500 and they look niceley made and good value, but what do they sound like? Thks Note
10. Hi R they smooth or coarse? Im looking for a nice set of rounds which feel nice on the fingers. Note
11.
450 watts I believe.
Thks, Look forward to a pic or 2 Note
12. Hi, Can U tell me the output please. Note.
13. Bassist available, all styles, 47 yrs old currently working on rig upgrade, good shape with plenty of hair and... own teeth!. Note
14. RM, Do U have a price list for the Dr bass cabs. Note
15. RM, Where can U gate Dr Bass in the UK? Note.
16. Im in the running for a small light powerful cab, but only have up to 400 pounds to spend. The Bergie and Epiphani stuff looks good and just within budget. Does anyone know which set up will give the best low end, and projection. Thks to all Note.
17. Usual story here. Had two chums who played guitar, both better than me so guess who ends up with only for strings. Our first tentative jam was I think Smoke on the Water, put together in my freinds pongy... pintsize bedroom. That was back in 1976. Great memories.
18. "and it used to be played by someone called John Giblin" Check him out on early Phil Collins stuff, he is a very, very tasty bassist, very smooth from what I can remember.
19. Good pics are the key to buying vintage. I bought my 71 P bass off Ebay. It had been badly routed under the pickguard and the seller took some great pics of the offending detail. When I got it I checked it over and found a couple of extra probs, but for the money and knowing it had been chopped I was happy. But if your not sure, get extra pics taken and if they wont then forget it. Note.
20. Davebass5 Hi, Dont suppose that Epiphani 2x12 is for sale? Note
21. Hi guys, noobie here. I'm currently looking for a lightweight 2x12 cab. Im looking at the 1x12 Bergies, but that Epiphani looks great. Can you give us the address of The Gallery, I cant seem to find it anywhere. Note
