1979 Kramer aluminium necked Bass...SOLD
cardinaljay replied to david_l_perry's topic in Basses For Sale
Queen Bassist, John Deacon had one one of these. Although I am not sure he used it live, he definately used it as a back-up and it is on the Play The Game video (1980). It's a fantastic looking instrument and I'm surprised at the very reasonable price. Neck-wise, is it much different to a P Bass? Good luck with the sale - if my Bassman sells before this goes, I shall make one an offer. Fingers crossed. -

Hey all I have three Bass Amps at the moment, two of which are valve Fender Bassmans. I have a Bassman 100 head with 1x15 EV cab and a Bassman Ten combo. They are very similar in their design and if I could justify having both, I would keep both. Although a very popular Guitar amplifier, I have found it a joy to play with Bass, both live and in the studio. The speakers are 10's and really pack a punch. The ultra linear output transformer enables the bottom end to come through nicely too. Whether you're wanting smooth finger style or aggressive plectrum "clunk" this amp delivers well. I recently had the amp serviced and it had the following done: new Mesa Boogie valves, new modern day fuse holder installed (finding the old Slo Blo fuses is problematic), and the hum balance has now been bypassed with the installation of resistors. The Bias was also adjusted accordingly. I also had the output trans upgraded to a Mercury Magnetics one made in U.S It is estimated the amp would have been made in the early 1980's possibily 1970's. Everything is original except the noted changes/upgrades above. Price: £550 Any questions, please feel free to ask. Hey - Have been in Bermondsey with my band Rosalita for a few days recording at the Animal Farm. Using an old Bassman 100 with an EV equiped 15 cab. Usual Neuman mic and damn... it's sounding great. Will post results as soon as we're finished mixing. For now, have a gander at www.myspace.com/rosalitaband to check out our previous recordings. For these I used an Ashdown ABM 500 and Precision Devices equiped 2x12. Instrument wise - Fender Precision or Jazz. Effects - non other than a Flanger on If You Can't Dance (mid section).

Hey all, I had the priviledge of recording at BBC Maida Vale Studios, in conjunction with BBC Introducing, this past Sunday with my band Rosalita. After a homecoming Ipswich show at the Caribbean Club on Friday, Nottingham Junktion 7 and a Travelodge in Hemel Hempstead on Saturday, albeit it a little tired, we loved the experience! They had a very tasty Ampeg SVT-R and I must say, I was blown away. You can see pics of us and that beautiful Ampeg here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/suffolk/content/image...allery.shtml?14 Audio will be played on The Huw Stephens, Introducing show on Radio 1 this evening from midnight, or alternatively on the "listen again" feature on the BBC website later this week. all ze besten Jay

Hello. Currently require a Fender Bassman 70w, ultralinear Output transformer for my Bassman. The amp was built in 1980 and it would be great to get the old thing running again. Does anyone have an info on where I can get one of these transformers? Jay

Great pic Tony! However, I am sure he was using TWO Ampeg rack heads through an 8x10 when we played with them in Norwich. (may be one was a spare). To be honest, it lacked that classic "bite" he had back in the day. I wouldn't be surprised if he has changed to Marshall. Jay

Hey fellow people of Bass. My band Rosalita have just released our debut single, Manga Girl. It can be downloaded on iTunes and hard copies including vinyls are available from Amazon, HMV etc... Most importantly, I'm more keen for people to have a gander and let us know what they think. Therefore, you can listen for free at our myspace www.myspace.com/rosalitaband. Of course, any purchases are a bonus Cheers, Jay PS - I used to chat on Bassworld, which as I understand is long gone now Still, this site looks pretty cool anyways.

Hey there. Spotted a few comments about the Jam and thought I would shout out a reply. Oddly enough, my band, Rosalita supported them earlier in the year when they played The Waterfront in Norwich. I thought the show they put on was great, although it did come at a fair price for those paying, I thought. I believe it was £16 a ticket and on their most recent dates I think it's even more. Still, not that expensive compared to some recent gigs. Just to get a plug in here... Rosalita released our debut single., Manga Girl on Monday which can be downloaded from iTunes. If you wanna have a listen first, please all feel free to have a look at; www.myspace.com/rosalitaband Jay
