Raging Speedhorn, dropped in at Slugfest yesterday to do a free half hour set, before going on to Swansea to play with Discharge. Andy Gilmour using the Laney Digbeth to good effect...

Anyone else play guitar through their bass rig?

Don't know if it's still the case, but Doyle from the Misfits used SVT's for many years. -

Subhumans, this Saturday.

It's just an amp, and a heavy one at that 😆.

If you have no luck your side of the bridge this guy is well thought of, out Usk way in South Wales, I've not had cause to use him personally but follow him on FB, and he certainly knows his way round valve amps, I'd think if your Terror is fixable he can do it. https://www.facebook.com/stevewardguitars

See your optician and ask if you can have one lens for distance and one for close up stuff, I've been wearing mine like that for a good few years now, worth a try.

I've got a couple of Barefaced cabs, the Four10 will outman any 'normal' 8x10 I've played through, so I'd expect the same from the Two10 versus the vast majority of manufacturers 4x10. As mentioned, you may not notice a huge difference at normal volume, or even some people's 'loud', but if you need proper loud and low you won't be let down by Barefaced.

Discharge, last Friday.

Owned from new, has a set of Wizard 'Hammers' installed with the obligatory cts etc. loom.

First time in a few years for this rig.

Before I sprung for a valve head, I borrowed one off a very kind friend for a practice session, hand-built 100w, through my Barefaced Four10 at the practice, I couldn't even hear it at full beans, swapped back to my Orange Terror 500 after 3 songs. Admittedly we played silly loud at that time, so I went for a Matamp GT200 after that experience, no problem hearing that, indeed Kev (r.i.p) was even moved to say, "Ffs turn that thing down" at one session when i decided to give him some of his own medicine. Loud is different things to different people.

My amp, house cab for this evening...

Turn the bass up a bit.

Yes, nothing like a bit of easy listening to help get us back in the saddle.

So, on Friday we played our first gig since July 2019, and the first with our new guitarist, it went well.

Just received another solderless p bass loom from John, as always a pleasure to deal with. No need to look anywhere else if you need a loom, he's The Man.

Tonight's practice, the new cheapie bass surprised me, I've got a new Kiogon loom and Toltec 'Hot' pickup on the way for it, but it was no slouch as it came.
