1.
How do you like them together? Thinking of getting one for my Orange...
I can't try it at anything other than house volume till next weekend, but even at low volume it has plenty of tones on tap, it'll do for me anyway ☺
2.
What BF cab is that? (Not to detract in any way from the awesomeness of the amp.)
It's the Four10, awesome cab.
3. The Holy Grail arrived today. ☺
4. Quilter Bass Block 800 is a monster through my Four10 even running at 450w/8ohm, easy to use too and plenty of tonal options.
5. The shipping might put you off though. https://reverb.com/item/4530725-jimi-hendrix-s-sunn-amps-2000s-head-w-2-2x15-cabs-with-jbl-d140-felix-pappalardi-mountain-amp?gclid=CPPh3--X19ICFYiEswodXQ4NaA&pla=1
6. Excellent vfm, I put Wilkinson tuners on mine and a cts, switchcraft wiring upgrade (left the std. pickups in) and it's equally as good as my Squier VM jazz. Heavy though due to the ash body.
7. I'm waiting on a GT200 at the moment, I borrowed a nice 100w all valve amp a few months ago, tried it at practice, and couldn't hear it, so I bit the bullet and ordered the Matamp. Never played through on but I have heard one and it was something to behold.
8. I'm liking my Quilter, it has plenty of power, I was a little dubious before it arrived but it soon dispelled any doubts.
9.
I was chatting with Jeff (Matamp) Lewis a while back & he 'priced' my original Partridge transformer sets (300 watts) at well over £1200. - Add in a sturdy metal chassis (around 100+), and that's before you've added the bits & bottles.
Reassuring to hear, I'm waiting on a GT200 at the moment 😁
10. Our guitarist has a Bugera head and has put it through the it's paces in drop B for years now, it is a good amp, well built, 100% reliable. It's not the model you have there but his has plenty of bottom end so I don't see you being disappointed. As for the overhang on the cab who cares, I ordered a Matamp gt200 on Monday and I couldn't give a monkeys if it crushes my cab, it'll sound good while it does it. 😁
11. If you can stretch the budget a bit further you wont regret one of these, far before the Orange bag. Cant remember which one I ordered so you'll need to measure the Terror. http://www.flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/search/index.asp?keyword=Waterproof+
12. No complaints about the new Quilter Bass Block 800 on the oomph front either.
13.
Thanks for the replies. I have given it another go today. i have checked i have the active pad pushed in, although my Stingray hasn't got a really hot active anyway. i have also rolled off the treble a little bit on the amp. I am still getting loads of hiss from the amp, this isn't really a problem whilst playing, but it would drive me crazy at rehearsals and between songs. Luckily i bought the amp new from an online music store only a few days ago, so i will be sending back for a full refund. i will find one in a shop, that way i can try it out, to check all is ok first. cheers thebassman
Good idea, it's a good amp if you like what it can do, just bad luck with this hiss problem.
14. Not normal, I've had mine since they were launched and never experienced anything like that.
15. I found my experience all the more disappointing when you take into account who the Hartke UK distributor is.
16.
but if not you can forget about Hartke customer service. Despite all the good things they say, it's non-existent outside of the US, and their UK people are absolutely not interested unless you're a "name". Lesson learned.
My 'Kilo' experience exactly, as I said before I was lucky DV247 stepped up and did the right thing for me, because I was fed nothing but a web of lies by the UK end of Hartke, which was confirmed when I emailed the USA end for clarification of something. Never again.
17. Tried it at low volume earlier through the Dubster with my Hardpuncher, tone rolled off and bass at max on the amp. I think the house shifted on it's foundations. I like it.
18. Internal fan according to specs.
19. I bought a Kilo when they first came out, it died after less than 8hrs use. 3 months of false promises from various sources before DV247 did the right thing and made things right.
20. I've bitten the bullet, it'll be with me tomorrow.
21. I've used quite a varied range with mine, the best results I've had are with my own cabs obviously, but I've never really used anything that's sounded terrible other than a Hartke xl 4x10. Peavey of various models have always been good, Ashdown abm was ok, Ampeg was quite nice, I will say it does shine through my Four10, it sounds massive.
22. I'd say you may just have time to get an endorsement by Tena incontinence pants by the time you take delivery.
23. Cheers for that, my VTDI is always on when I use my Terror so that would likely be the case if I got a Bass Block too, I don't use flat out distortion just the proverbial bit of grit so I may take the plunge here.
24. What sort of volume is the Bass Block capable of? To use the olde question, "Will it do metal?" Serious question, as have heard plenty of amps that don't gold a candle to what I'm using despite higher ratings, and I'm really liking the look of this little box.
