obbm's feedback

The usual faultless service from Dave. Ordered the cable on Sunday and it was with me first thing Tuesday morning. Quality cable once again.
2. Is there a tour bus and/or private jet involved Lozz? Blackpool is a long haul from Herts mate. Hope it's a good one for you.
3. I would be having a look at the Dingwall website
4.
Just seen it - very nice.
Thanks Lozz. I'm sure you'll know what I mean when I say, it's one of those basses that I find difficult to walk past without wanting to stop and play. Anyway, enough hijacking of your thread.
5. Congrats Mr. Discreet, excellent work Great work from all concerned.
6.
Thanks for the info Gary. If you want a traditional P-bass sound, what pup would you go for?
Evening Rich, I think I would be going for a Fender 60's pup.
7.
on ebay, "only music", blues tribute model, nice and punchy failing that, I'm selling a pickup out of a classic 50s model?

I'll sell you a SD Quarterpounder , and I don't even work for McDonald's ...anyhow PM me if interested , it's a great well rounded pick up
Please gents keep offers of sales to p.m. only. I don't want to do any locking or deleting because the OT is a genuine request for info, so please keep all replies as advisory only. Thanks.
8. Seeing as this thread is already at the top of the pile, I can thank you chaps without breaking the bumping rules
9. 1986 G&L SB1 Sunburst, Tort & Maple. Priced dropped to just £695 Leo Fender’s brilliant 1980’s take on the Precision bass. I’ve been gigging my other 80’s Sb1 now for the last five years. I got this one a while back to take to gigs as a backup. It’s a bit of extravagance though, when I have a homebuilt P bass that I can use for that purpose, so to release some funds, it’s up for sale. These SB1’s are brilliant gigging instruments. The magnetic field design pick ups are so powerful, much hotter and more aggressive than any other passive bass that I’ve gigged. You certainly won’t get buried in the mix with this bass. The volume and tone controls really have an effect on the output and tone, giving plenty of variation. As can be seen in the photos, it can’t be described as museum quality, it’s an instrument that has been gigged and has picked up wear and tear over the years. No structural damage though and everything works the way it should. The neck is nicely worn, smooth and fast. The jumbo frets are still very good. Details: Weight 9lb 3oz Width at nut 42 mm. Fretboard is maple with a radius of 7.5” Neck dated October 86 Body dated November 86 Original MFD pick up. Original tuners and the substantial G&L saddle lock bridge. The old headstock shape with Leo Fender signature decal. The lovely tort pick guard is not original, although it is from Chandlers the G&L USA supplier. A previous owner had installed an incorrect flimsy input jack, it can be seen in one of the photos below. I have since replaced it with a Switchcraft unit. I’m not sure whether the pots are original, but they are good quality and function perfectly. Strap buttons are G&L but probably not the originals to this instrument. No shims required as this bass has the very efficient micro tilt adjustment system. Currently wearing round wound DR Highbeam strings. Price is £[s]725.00[/s] now £695.00 collected from my place in Herts. If collecting I can supply a Warwick Gig Bag. Or for a little extra a G&L hard case. I would prefer collection but willing to post. Posting options: I can supply a G&L case for an extra £40. It is not actually an SB1 case but quite a good fit. Externally, the case is scruffy, with a couple of the chrome domed feet missing. Internally it is very good and offers a high level of protection. The courier fee for overnight delivery will be an additional £15.99. Insurance is extra, please advise if you want insured shipping and I will get a quote. If you don’t want the additional expense of the hardcase, I can still post, although I will detach the neck, bubble wrap everything and send via courier overnight, in a sturdy cardboard box at a cost of £15.99. Once again insurance will be extra, please advise and I will get a quote. Pics below.

Cancelled gig

Feel for you and wish you well.
11. Now you've gone and done it, cue three pages by this evening It really depends on what you are trying to achieve but on one of my builds I decided that I wanted punchy and went for Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds. Result = very punchy but not a traditional P sound. It was what I wanted though, so I was happy.
12.
Great 75 there Gary.
Cheers Lozz. I did say I wouldn't be buying anymore 70's P basses but this is a very lovely one and very light.
13. Just got this, it is rather lovely and not unlike my last 75
14. Same as my last one TSB, black p/g, maple. Will stick a pic up on the Precision thread over in the porn section.
15. Sounds like you have a good one there Lozz. I guess this is a stoopid question, but will this see an end to the buying? I didn't mean to but I just went and bought another 75P
16.
Please hurry up and sell this G.....I'm considering selling everything in my Sig below and a kidney to get this!!! The wife would not be happy.....
a man up, type bump
17. Hats off to your thoroughness and willingness to share but it has made my head hurt A revisit will be required.
18. I don't enjoy playing it, just sick and tired of it I guess but have to admit, that it is always well received in the pubs around these parts.
