5.
VERY fine example of a 70s 4-bolt Jazz! Beautiful indeed. Is the neck straight? (My '74 4-bolt had quite a ski jump....)
Neck is all good, I'm pleased to say.
That's such a lovely, classic-looking example Gary! Good buy How's the weight? Put my 75 on the scales the other day, and it came in at 5.6kg ...
The weight is 9lb 6oz so I should find it comfy to gig with.
Nice looking bass, the strings could be Pyramid Golds
Thanks for that redstriper, whatever they are, so far I really like them, for the lovely smoothness under the finger tips.

  10. I'm sure last time I did this, it was a case of paying the courier before they would complete the delivery to me. I would just contact the courier in the first instance Karl.
Come on I'll post mine too 2015 Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass, based on the'64 custom model but with the added binding of the '65 and a flatter neck, similar to the Geddy Lee. For me this is "The Bass", it has everything I have always liked and wanted on a bass, looks great, plays really well and sounds even better! 13. Thanks Gents
That looks a cracker Gary stick with it, they don't come around often in that condition have you got TI Jazz Flats on there yet?
It has got flats on John but I've no idea which variety. They have a mauve colour silk winding, as can be seen in the headstock pic.
  14. Actually NBD was last week but I've been away for the weekend, so it's a bit late. I wasn't planning to post this up but have been encouraged to do so by Discreet. So for the Fender fans, check out the pics down below. Although P basses are really my thing, I periodically find myself hankering after a Jazz bass. Every couple of years or so I've tended to cave in, buy one, play it for a few months and then move it on and return to my P basses. My past J bass purchases have mostly been Squiers, so I thought it was time to try a Fender. My preference is for old Fenders, so I started looking out for a 60's one. Anyway I spotted this one from 1973 and decided to go for it. It's all original (other than the pup cover) including the case. So far I'm very happy with it. I've set it up to my liking and it plays very well. The neck is lovely, with the added bonus of being block and bound, which I've always liked the look of. Fret work is great and no dead spots. I've only played it amplified at lounge volume, so I'm really looking forward to trying it through my rig in the not too distant. Right enough waffle, here are the pics:

    Ziphoblat

A fine Bass Chatter to deal with. No messing about, good communications and paid very rapidly. Highly recommended.
  17. You will have to travel and sleep in an over sized van, but for me that would be no problem. Blue that would be the deal breaker for me these days. Sod that. I have definitely got to the stage where I never want to stay somewhere that is of lesser quality and less comfortable than my own bed.
  18. No worries. make you show us some pics when it's all done.
  19. Loads of good info here on all things Fender: http://www.guitarhq.com/fender.html#specs
