Awesome bass...I have the same in natural finish. Whoever buys this, is a happy fellow. GLWTS!
Thanks Aero71.
This is a truly fantastic bass which I would be buying like a shot were I not already embroiled with two other basses! It's an absolute pleasure to play and sounds incredible. And it's like new, too.
Thanks Mark. I do agree with you, it is a fantastic bass and like you, I found myself staying up late just to play it. I also found myself playing in a pleasingly inventive fashion, weird I'm guessing it will be a bass that I will want back, if it goes.
Absolutely gorgeous, wish I had the cash id love a spector 4
Save up some dosh and treat yourself when you can afford to, I'm sure you wont regret it.

Just been for another look. It's not a 71 neck, infact I'd be surprised if it is a Fender neck at all. Control knobs are not right. I suspect the body is not Fender. Scamming git. Hopefully no one will fall for it.

Yeah it's a wrong 'un

Just on looks alone I love it. If my little Fender Rumble dies, I will certainly check one of these out.
Off-topic briefly, I enjoyed playing your 66 P Gary... ooh, yeah.
Thanks Mark. Do you know just opening the case on that one is a pleasurable experience

I don't gig my more valuable vintage instruments, not because of concerns about reliability but purely through fear of theft and/or drunken punters causing damage. My main gigging basses are G&L's from the 80's. Over the last couple of years I've enjoyed rehearsing with a 60's and a couple of 70 P basses, with no issues.

A 2002 Czech-built Spector Euro4 in a very fetching Black Cherry Burst finish. In excellent, almost unblemished condition. This is a Euro 4, not the Euro 4LX. This model is much scarcer, as it was only made for a short while between 2001 and 2003. Bass Chatter Discreet, tells me that Cetera (a Spector afficionado and collector) believes this pre-LX all-maple Euro to be closer to the authentic tone of the USA NS-2s compared with the later LX models. The workmanship, hardware and finish are all superb, making the bass a real pleasure to look at and more importantly to play. It’s hard to imagine that the U.S. models could be better. The fret board and markers are lovely, the frets are in great condition and the neck-through construction helps to make the bass comfortable to play and gives easy access to the higher frets. The neck feels fast, smooth and a breeze to navigate. The 9 volt active circuit is a powerful beast, with an impressive level of boost available. The instrument is well balanced on the strap and weighing in at only 9lbs 12oz it’s comfortable to wear. The condition is exceptionally good, with hardly any visible wear. It was only whilst photographing the bass for this advert that I noticed a slight blemish on the back edge, just about visible in pic 7. The gold finish has faded/worn on top edge of the bridge, one again check out the pics. I rehearsed this bass a few days back and it was a pleasure to play. Our set is very varied, some old rock, pop, soul, funk and disco I was able to get the tone and sound I wanted for all of the above. It sounded great with a pick and finger style. So why sell such an amazing instrument? I really thought it was going to be a keeper, the problem for me though, is that I purchased it as a back up for gigs. My amp only has one channel and given that this bass needs eq’ing very differently to my main gigging bass, it would cause me problems if I had to swap in a hurry. I guess that I could buy a second Spector, change my amp or use a pedal but it probably makes sense to stick with my P basses. I might change my mind but in the meantime it’s up for sale at £775. Bank Transfer is fine. Cash on collection even better. Pay Pal but buyer pays fees. I’m really hoping a Bass Chatter will want to collect this from my place in Herts. I’m not happy posting a through neck instrument unless in a hardcase, which I don’t have. If collection is not possible, then the only option would be to factor in for the additional cost of a hard case and of course the courier charge. . Here is the spec: Neck 3-Piece Maple Reinforced with Graphite Rods, Neck-Through Construction Rosewood Fingerboard with Mother of Pearl Crown Inlays (12th fret w/Abalone Strips) 24 Frets, 34" Scale, Brass Nut (1.64" 41.6mm), 16" Radius Body Spector Original NS Curved and Carved Body Shape USA Solid Maple Wings High-Gloss Black Cherry Burst Hardware Gold Bridge (Zinc/Brass Alloy), Locking Tuners: Schaller M4, Gold Spacing at Bridge .75" (19mm) Strap Buttons: Schaller Locking, Gold Neck Pickup: EMG P, Active Bridge Pickup: EMG J, Active Controls: Vol/Vol/Bass/Treble - Spector TonePump® Info: http://www.michalik....id=54&Itemid=76 Strings: D'Addario XL-170 Nickel

Good man Karl. You're in the right place. The enthusiasm for new gear will certainly return if you hang about for a while. Welcome back.

NBD: Fender American Vintage 64 Jazz in Daphne Blue
gary mac replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in Gear Gallery
That is rather lovely Nick. -
There was a time when this really wound me up but I've now programmed myself not to worry about it.
-
Agree with Mr Icastle A couple of months down the line and those tracks that seem difficult/too fast etc. will be a breeze. Rise to the challenge bass sister

Enjoy the project, I've done a few over the years and they were all enjoyable and turned out really well. Was tempted to buy that neck from Rumple myself

Gigging after surgery - am I being over optimistic?
gary mac replied to FinnDave's topic in General Discussion
Wouldn't it be prudent to get some advice from the surgeon/consultant, rather than us lot? I had surgery a few years back and about two weeks later, played a short set of about half an hour. I enjoyed it but that half an hour was more than enough. -
This has been a great cheer up thread for me today.
