1. Good man Karl. You're in the right place. The enthusiasm for new gear will certainly return if you hang about for a while. Welcome back.
2.
I'll be the Tea boy again Mick
You do make a totally loverly cuppa Chris
3. That looks great, love the simple uncluttered appearance.
4. Sounds good Mick.
5. Looks like a good un Karl.
6. An ancient Blackberry, oh you young whippersnappers.
7. Definitely a scam
8. There was a time when this really wound me up but I've now programmed myself not to worry about it.
9. Agree with Mr Icastle A couple of months down the line and those tracks that seem difficult/too fast etc. will be a breeze. Rise to the challenge bass sister
10. Enjoy the project, I've done a few over the years and they were all enjoyable and turned out really well. Was tempted to buy that neck from Rumple myself
11. Wouldn't it be prudent to get some advice from the surgeon/consultant, rather than us lot? I had surgery a few years back and about two weeks later, played a short set of about half an hour. I enjoyed it but that half an hour was more than enough.
12. This has been a great cheer up thread for me today.
13.
Shouldn't you ask a Mod ... no, wait ...
14. I use it at the end of each and every gig, sometimes at the end of each set. Makes a huge difference to string life. The strings that I replaced on my main gigging bass a couple of weeks back, had been on for a year ( sad I know but I keep records) and had done thirty plus gigs.
15. Excellent review old chap. Glad you are enjoying.
16. Yes, adding an extension cab will unleash the full umph I've never used an Asdown so can't speak from experience on the eq section but generally I would say get the gain up to a point where you are maximising volume but without clipping (there will be a light or a gauge I'm guessing). Then set your master volume to suit the venue. Perhaps start with eq all set flat and adjust to suit the venue.
17.
In one of my bands, I sing Natural Born Bugle ... Well there she is again, stepping out of the limousine. Love that track.
I must get along to a Happy Jack gig
18.
That's back when I was fronting for my band. Lots of Deep Purple. Space Truckin may not have been much of a song, but damn, it was fun to sing! lol
Space Truckin was in the set on my very first bass gig back in 73/74. Midway through the number, the pick up on my Epiphone parted company with the bass, the noise it made was truly horrid, even worse than my playing
19. Hello and welcome Jules, good to meet you
