1. Think I'm all up to date with the "likes". Picked up a fair few for DefunkT, so thanks to those who have.
2. 1973/74 my first bass and rig. Epiphone semi acoustic.
3. 1983 USA G & L SB2 With Godin, shaped hard case. Black and maple. Vintage G&L SB-2 built in Fullerton California. Plenty of mojo but not wrecked, just nicely and properly roadworn. Signs of use and age, with crazing etc. There are plenty of photos down below, showing plenty of detail. Everything functioning as it should and I believe, all stock and original, having said that, I’m not sure if the straplocks are original but they are certainly not new and shiny. A lovely instrument to gig with and certainly not one that disappears in the mix, thanks to the pick ups which are the hugely powerful MFD units. Pole pieces on these pups can be adjusted individually. Nice and comfy on the shoulder, weighing in at just over 9lbs. Lovely silky smooth neck and the jumbo frets are still in great shape. The bridge on these basses is a very pleasingly substantial piece of kit and a breeze to set up and adjust. Neck has the micro tilt adjustment, (no need for shims). These are quite rare instruments, as they were never produced in huge numbers and they were only produced for a short time between the end of 1982 until 1984.They have since gained something of a reputation as players' basses and are sought-after by players and collectors alike. An unusual feature with this bass is the G&L patented 'Bi-Cut' truss-rod insertion method. Info can be found at this link: http://www.glguitars...atures/neck.asp I’ve played a few gigs with this bass now and it has been a real pleasure. It is a lovely instrument to gig with and also a potentially sound investment. These old G&Ls seem of late, to be getting the recognition that they deserve. Not sure I really want to sell, so if one of my others sells first then this one will be withdrawn. I’m asking £650 collected from me (Hertfordshire). No trades thanks. I'm happy for BC'ers to visit in order to check it out. Also happy to answer any questions or supply further photos. If you want it couriered (mainland only) the charge will be £15.00 for overnight delivery. (Well packaged but uninsured). For an insured delivery I’m guessing at around £30.00.
4. Lovely post, well done Shell. It's been a pleasure meeting you on here and out in the real world.
5. I've been off and "Liked" all of the bands and don't seem to have been locked out of Face Book
6. Great idea Pinball. I would like to add my lot, DefunkT to the list https://www.facebook...unktband?ref=hl I'm off to do some liking from the list.
7. Vintage and very rare MIDI interface designed to be used with an IBM PS/2 type computer Connects through the joystick port with built in cable. Good, used condition as can be seen in the photos. Will be supplied with the cables shown. No point asking me any technical questions about this piece of kit. I just can't remember and I don't have the manual anymore. Last time I saw one of these come up for sale, it went for about £40, fees are less on here, so I'm listing at £[s]35[/s]. Price reduced to £30. NOW JUST £20. I'm happy for it to be collected from my place in Herts. Courier will be £16.00, for overnight delivery.
8. Didn't know they were still about, will check it out.
9. I happened to switch on Radio 2 a couple of weeks back and he was sitting in for Steve Wright, so I didn't immediately retune. Really enjoyed it, great tunes, including some Northern Soul and no pointless drivel as with so many of the DJ's.
10. For our gig on Saturday we finished with "Shout" and then "Nine to Five. Very well received they were too. Left them shouting for more but my bed was a calling louder
11. First gig of the year for us last night. Started off to very few punters but the place quickly filled up with a crowd that danced right though to the end. Then two encores. A couple of minor wobbles bass wise, just brief brain blanks as to where I was in the song, quick recovery though. We got caught out this time by the noise limiter, it was hitting the big powerful G chord for the chorus on Plug in Baby that did it Power came back on and we launched back in to the chorus, only with less of the gusto.
12. There's a lot of love on here for forum user Obbm. He will make cables to order and very good they are too
13. A Friday night bump and now it's only £1,800.
14. Chill Mark, unlike Littlewing, some of us read your original post properly.
15. A dehumidifier wouldn't dry things out too quickly. It will just remove the excess moisture.
16. A de humidifier would be the quickest way to dry things out. If you can't get one, then in the first instance try to keep the temperature consistent and allow some ventilation. Avoid if possible, generating too much moisture laden air. Don't air dry washing or allow moisture to spread from kitchen/bathroom.
