1. Free entry. 9 p.m. start. The lovely DefunkT girls.
2. My 66 P. My 75 P Home built P 50's style complete2 by gem5819, on Flickr
3. Welcome back. I have been using a Fender Rumble practice amp for the last few years and have found it to be very reliable. It also does have the phone socket and cd in sockets that you require. There are more sophisticated amps out there but it does what I need. Not got much experience of headphones, sorry.
4.
Then - in '73 I went up to that London to buy a Ricky - but every one I tried was horrible to play! I ended up with a beautiful Blonde Italian My first real nice bass
That is one tasty Italian job John.
5. The last bump of January.
6. I've yet to play one of these. I imagine it will certainly be heard and felt with those pups. Look forward to your thoughts after the gig.
7. The volume knob on my G&L SB1 does most certainly affect the sound, other than the obvious volume increase/decrease. Like Highfox's example of the Fralins, the G&L Magnetic Field Design pups are super hot.
8. Well done, you've passed an audition. Ok it wasn't for you but great for experience and morale.
9. Too far for me ole chap. Hope it's a good one though. Once you hit that first note, the nerves will be gone. So long as you hit the right note of course
10. No worries mate. Good luck with your sale.
11.
Heart of Glass is easy. The main hook drops the last note of the melody in a couple of places which results in a bar of 3/4 each time. Since everything follows the melody it's simply a question of learning which times the beat is dropped.
Big Red I wasn't saying it wasn't easy, just responding to the OP about deceptively simple.
12. We recently added Heart of Glass by Blondie and had to run it a few times to get the timing right on the middle section. Infact at one gig it all went a bit pear shaped (I wasn't the guilty party on that occasion). Also the final section of Bubbles by Biffy Clyro caused some puzzlement.
13. Thank you chaps.
Any trades?
Sorry I should have stated in my ad, no trades.
14. Think I'm all up to date with the "likes". Picked up a fair few for DefunkT, so thanks to those who have.
15. 1973/74 my first bass and rig. Epiphone semi acoustic.
16. 1983 USA G & L SB2 With Godin, shaped hard case. Black and maple. Vintage G&L SB-2 built in Fullerton California. Plenty of mojo but not wrecked, just nicely and properly roadworn. Signs of use and age, with crazing etc. There are plenty of photos down below, showing plenty of detail. Everything functioning as it should and I believe, all stock and original, having said that, I’m not sure if the straplocks are original but they are certainly not new and shiny. A lovely instrument to gig with and certainly not one that disappears in the mix, thanks to the pick ups which are the hugely powerful MFD units. Pole pieces on these pups can be adjusted individually. Nice and comfy on the shoulder, weighing in at just over 9lbs. Lovely silky smooth neck and the jumbo frets are still in great shape. The bridge on these basses is a very pleasingly substantial piece of kit and a breeze to set up and adjust. Neck has the micro tilt adjustment, (no need for shims). These are quite rare instruments, as they were never produced in huge numbers and they were only produced for a short time between the end of 1982 until 1984.They have since gained something of a reputation as players' basses and are sought-after by players and collectors alike. An unusual feature with this bass is the G&L patented 'Bi-Cut' truss-rod insertion method. Info can be found at this link: http://www.glguitars...atures/neck.asp I’ve played a few gigs with this bass now and it has been a real pleasure. It is a lovely instrument to gig with and also a potentially sound investment. These old G&Ls seem of late, to be getting the recognition that they deserve. Not sure I really want to sell, so if one of my others sells first then this one will be withdrawn. I’m asking £650 collected from me (Hertfordshire). No trades thanks. I'm happy for BC'ers to visit in order to check it out. Also happy to answer any questions or supply further photos. If you want it couriered (mainland only) the charge will be £15.00 for overnight delivery. (Well packaged but uninsured). For an insured delivery I’m guessing at around £30.00.
17. Lovely post, well done Shell. It's been a pleasure meeting you on here and out in the real world.
18. I've been off and "Liked" all of the bands and don't seem to have been locked out of Face Book
19. Great idea Pinball. I would like to add my lot, DefunkT to the list https://www.facebook...unktband?ref=hl I'm off to do some liking from the list.
20. Vintage and very rare MIDI interface designed to be used with an IBM PS/2 type computer Connects through the joystick port with built in cable. Good, used condition as can be seen in the photos. Will be supplied with the cables shown. No point asking me any technical questions about this piece of kit. I just can't remember and I don't have the manual anymore. Last time I saw one of these come up for sale, it went for about £40, fees are less on here, so I'm listing at £[s]35[/s]. Price reduced to £30. NOW JUST £20. I'm happy for it to be collected from my place in Herts. Courier will be £16.00, for overnight delivery.
