  1. So glad to hear that it's fixed and to have you back, of course
  2. Glad to hear that you've been reunited
  3. I thought Trevor regularly uses a G&L.
  4. I can vouch for Sir Spence, he's a sound chap to deal with
  5. First off, just have a good look over the terminals on the switch section of the pot.
  6. Looks like a good example Clarky, very nice.
  7. I was carrying out a fret levelling job at the weekend and had Argus playing on the Ipod. Still one of my fave albums and even having listened to it countless times, I had to keep taking a break from the fret filing to enjoy the bass playing and his tone.
  8. Sometimes doing the best thing for you, can really seem like the hardest thing to do. Really relate to what you're going through mate. Maybe a few months down the line you can go for a more low key local gig.
  9. Looks like you had fun Great pics and some lovely basses.
  10. That does look rather lovely Dave. Mrs S won't be making that mistake again
  11. Might have to get one to partner my Fallout guitar.
  12. Hope it improves for you. If I were to cancel a rehearsal due to a splinter in a finger, my band would give me hell.
  13. Nice one, sounds like a good deal. Some decent pots will make all the difference.
  14. Last week, I converted a customer's active Squier Jag to passive. Completely transformed it, from an horrid boomy mush to clear articulate Fendery goodness. Sorry a bit of a thread hijack but just making the point that sometimes the manufacturers don't get it right and that simple can be best.
  15. Will keep you in mind
  16. You lucky chapI'm sure that will sound mighty good.
  17. Dave can you let me know the name of the app? Cheers.
  18. This has run its course.
  19. Have a close look at the underside of the string where it sits in the nut, if there is a gap under the string, then it's not sitting correctly and the nut slot would need some filing. Inspect the contact point of the string with the saddle and see if the string is sitting correctly. Whenever I put strings on, I always press each string down fairly firmly, immediately in front of the saddle, this ensures a good contact point with the saddle. I do the same at the nut.
  20. First thing I would check is that the offending string is sitting correctly in the nut slot and on the saddle. Quite often a little filing is required.
  21. Enjoyed that, great job.
  22. A pleasure to deal with and a nice easy hassle free transaction with Steve, happy to recommend.
