1988 SGC Nanyo Bass Collection 401
With hardcase.
A very nice, Japanese built 1988, sunburst, active bass.
This is a very comfortable instrument to gig with as it weighs in at just 7lbs.
I did think that this would become my main gigging instrument but having just purchased another G&L, I need to move this one on.
The build quality is of a high standard.
Condition is exceptionally good, although not pristine.
2 octave rosewood finger board, with side dot markers
Scale length 34”
Maple neck
Gotoh tuners
Fully adjustable bridge
Active SGC P & J style pick ups
Four Controls for volume, Pick up blend, Treble & Bass (Boost/Cut)
When I got the bass the saddle height adjusting screws were all protruding above the bridge, the hand shredding nature of this is a pet hate of mine, so they have been replaced with shorter screws.
Also the battery holder for the active circuitry was in a sorry state, with damaged cables twisted together and taped up. This has been replaced with a more substantial one and decent cables.
I believe that everything else is original and as it left the factory.
The case is decent quality, plush lined and all catches work as they should. In mostly good condition, with just a couple of tears to the covering and some slight wear.
I’m offering this up at £270.00 including the hard case.
Or
£250 without the hard case. This price will only apply if collecting from me. If it is being couriered then it will have to be in the case.
I am happy to deliver via courier, within the case, bubble wrapped and then cardboard boxed. This will be an additional £20.
I’m in Hertfordshire, happy for any of you to come over to try it out and partake in tea and biccies.
