1. Sorry jumped in a bit quick there, didn't realise we were in the Double basses forum
2. I wouldn't be spending money on used strings. Would rather spend the money on some meths spirit and give my own strings a soaking, assuming they were strings that I liked
3. Good man Jack. This could be one of the most valuable/important posts to appear on Bass Chat.
4. I love flats when playing at home, particularly if playing along to Northern Soul, Motown etc. When it comes to gigging though, it has to be rounds for me. Maybe I need to get myself into a Norther Soul band
5. I don't think you can expect to pay less than you are already paying and be able to get anything that is going to be safe or efficient. I guess small things are easy to lose and because of this I have a routine post gig, of immediately removing my plugs, putting them back in their little storage tin and from there straight into the accessories pocket of my gig bag, job done. These are the ones that I've been using for the last couple of years. 6. An unexpected combination of the modern looking cabs and the retro looking Fender head, like it though
7. A pleasure to deal with, no hassle and rapid payment. Another of the good guys on BC.
8. That was a great find. I was trawling on Friday but obviously not very efficiently
9. Very nice and what a stupendously good price. How did I miss this on Ebay?
10. Hope it goes well for you. I've done a few and really enjoyed.
11. Doddy said just about exactly what I was going to type, thus saving me the job
12. These days, now that we gig regularly, we only hire a rehearsal room when it's time to add new material to the set. We will have all learnt the songs at home. It works well for us and usually means that with a rehearsal or sometimes two, we can get up to eight new songs in to the set.
13. Love the black and maple, wish I hadn't sold my 74 in that finish. Glad you are enjoying.
14.
Patience young Paduan. A buyer will reveal themselves soon enough. In the meantime, I'm enjoying those pics before this thread is locked once sold :-)
Glad you are enjoying No worries, I am patient but not young
15. Mine is an almost permanent feature in the lounge here. Had it about six years now and it's had plenty of use. So far so good.

17. Now only £225 Fender Squier Classic Vibe 50’s P Bass. Exceptional condition, almost as good as new. No blemishes or marks significant enough to show up in the pics. The neck, Maple fingerboard and frets on this are of great quality, really impressive. The width at nut is 42 mm. Fingerboard radius is 9.25. Fitted with a Seymour Duncan Antiquity pick up. Good quality Fender/Squier High mass bridge. Currently fitted with round wound strings and set up with a nice low action. I tried it out a recent gig, where it performed really well. Also it was comfortable for me to play, as it is a shoulder friendly 8lb 14oz. Reason for sale, I just want a Fender version. Probably not the most rational of decisions given the quality of this but what can I say, I’m a gear snob. Please note: The case is NOT included in the sale. Price is £[s]240[/s] collected from my place in Herts. Given the new cost of these, plus the pup upgrade, I thought the price was good. Not had any takers though, so time for a price drop, now only £225. Not much dosh for a very good instrument. Cash, bank transfer or Pay Pal if you are happy to pay the fees. I would prefer collection but if you want it couriered it will be £15.00 extra. I don’t have a case and therefore it would be posted with the neck removed, everything wrapped in copious amounts of bubble wrap and in a cardboard box. Any other questions or if you want to visit to test it out, just get in touch. and finally, the dark, moody, arty type shot
18. I think your drummer needs to get his tackled checked over. I've never heard of bollock cramp. Your duty as bass player does NOT extend to offering this service
19.
I wish I had the cash for this. It's a great looking bass, unbelievable it's not been snapped up already.. Come on someone!
Thanks Marvin. It is hanging about a bit, on the plus side it might give you the time to save up
20.
Its ridiculous that this bass is still here and it is a hell of a lot cheaper and in better condition than most others I have seen just goes to show how poor the market is right now But at least you can enjoy it for a bit longer Gary
Thanks for that Paul I shall be enjoying playing it later today, my wife is off on a shopping spree and I'm not .
21.
Jeez, it's still cracking and I am still going on that holiday. Can't believe a bass this beautiful is still in here!
I'm surprised it's still here but no worries, still enjoying it being about the place Enjoy that holiday.
22.
+ 1/2 I'm increasingly finding that I can't be arsed with these overblown, overpriced, comeback extravaganzas but I do enjoy watching the resulting DVDs. Cream, Led Zeppelin and even stuff like the Clapton 'Crossroads' DVDs have all been well worth the tenner or so to buy them and watch I the comfort of home. Yes I know 'it's not the same' as being there, but I reckon I've been to enough live concerts by now so it has to be something really special or really convenient. Sad, maybe, but true.
I'm the same FF, must be an age thing
