1974 Fender Precision and original Fender case. There’s something else I fancy buying so time to put another of my rather lovely 70’s P basses up for sale. Black body with maple board/neck. All original pups, electrics and chrome covers. Lovely clean maple board and neck. 40 mm. at the nut. Chunky, vintage fretwork in excellent condition. Weighing in at a very shoulder friendly 8.2lbs. The case is generally good, although one corner looks a bit ropey as can be seen in the photo. Catches all work and there is even a key. This is a cool looking vintage instrument and very resonant, even unplugged it’s loud and growly. Very good condition but not immaculate, there are a few blemishes and general signs of use. Hopefully as can be seen in the pics, it is really very clean, given its age. The pots are dated 1974 but the serial number on the neck plate indicates 1975, although the previous owner is convinced that it is a 74. Fender could be a bit haphazard with dating back then of course, anyway it is a very decent 70’s example. The band I am with, mostly play sweaty, crowded pubs, where I regularly seem to find myself and my gear in the firing line of inebriated punters. I’m therefore wary of using vintage instruments. If we played venues with stages this would be a keeper, as I find it very comfortable to play and it packs a good old P bass punch. Collection preferred and therefore I’m not at this stage quoting a postage price. We can discuss postage costs etc if necessary. . I’m in Hertfordshire and happy for BC’ers to visit and try out, prior to buying. Priced at £ 1,950 Not after any trades at the moment, thanks. Cash or bank transfer preferred, I can accept Pay Pal but the buyer will have to pay the fees. I’ve also still got the sunburst 75 P and although Iit hasn't been bumped of late, it is still for sale. Can understand your excitement, they sound great. Good luck with it.

That's lovely Ead, Having recently been introduced to Dingwall by Grand Wazzoo, I'm now really chomping at the bit for a 4 string.
-
You're on a bit of a roll lately. Very nice.
-
Listening now and enjoying.

Decently made Wiring Harnesses, Are they worth it?

If you don't go down the DIY route, you certainly can't go wrong with one of Kiogons kits. I've had a few over the years. Quality components, quality workmanship and nice and easy to install. Plus he is a fine fellow to deal with -
-
Mike is a delight to deal with. Paid when he said he would and good comms throughout. Another one of the Bass Chat good guys.
Enjoy Woody. I hopefully will have my own NDBD tomorrow as I have an incoming Dingwall AB1 4
Looking forward to seeing some pics. I'm wondering if it's the one I have been eyeing up.
-
Lovely looker. I am just enjoying my first Dingwall experience, thanks to Grand Wazzoo. Really want to own one now.
-
Good idea Mick. It should be interesting, so many variables, string choice, set up, pups etc.

I thought I was GAS free these days, slight hankerings but nothing too serious and then..................Grand Wazoo visited me at the weekend and brought along his Dingwall collection. What has made it worse, is he has lent me one and I can't put the thing down. Now I keep visiting the Dingwall site and forum, keep checking Ebay and Bass Direct. I even started thinking about selling my Wal and a Fender or two.

Today this happened to me and it involves precision basses

Will have to dig out my copy, haven't played it for a long time. Enjoy your trip. -

Welcome Antonio. Hope you enjoy Bass Chat. There is a lot of love for Yamaha basses around here. -
I've used this seller http://stores.ebay.c...cialties?_rdc=1 Always had good service and prices from them
-
Are you trying to sell this or just showing us a strap? It is a fine looking strap by the way.
-
Nice score. I was tempted with this one myself but decided not to in the end as it's very similar to my 75.
-
Some fun ones in that list. Do a fair few of them in my band. But thankfully we did drop Sex on Fire about a year back
-
Half hot lesson, is the sort of ad more usually spotted in a Mayfair phone box
-
Welcome Fred. Enjoy your time here. There are some cracking amps/cabs and great prices in the For Sale forum. I went down the lightweight route sometime back and haven't regretted it. Genz Benz head 600 watts into two Mark Bass 2 x 10" cabs. Lovely, in yer face, up front, clear sound.

Shielding - copper tape on scratchplate?
gary mac replied to Lozz196's topic in Repairs and Technical
Having a nightmare with buzzing from my rickenbacker 4003 which only disappears when i touch something metal....Would screening help at all anyone??????
Something I've encountered a couple of times is this. A couple of basses have developed a serious buzz, which disappears when touching the bridge or strings. I've removed pickguard checked wiring/earthing etc. all good. With the pickguard still pulled away from the body, I've pushed in the jack plug and no buzzing . Then put p/g back in place buzzing returns. Problem resolved by loosening off the input socket and rotating it slightly, so that the metal work is not in contact with or near to the side of the cavity. -
Shielding - copper tape on scratchplate?
gary mac replied to Lozz196's topic in Repairs and Technical
im a bit of novice so just double checking.....So i should tape the back of the scratch plate, the cavity where the pup is and the cavity where the pots are yeah??
Yep, that's it. -
