1. This is rather excellent. It is making me smile, just visualising the antics of T & J and Spike.
2. Has the buzzing always been there? If it has then it could be the string height at the nut. If it has only recently appeared then, as Rich said, try loosening. A quarter turn at a time.
3. Rothko are great to deal with and decals are of excellent quality Nige. Good advice from Kev, they are thin, which is one of the reasons they look so convincing when the job is complete.
4. Mad price but that is one lovely Wal and in exceptional condition. They are open to offers
5. Glad to hear it. My SB1 will be getting another outing Friday night.
6. At £6 got to be worth a punt. Will await your review in due course.
7. Can't help with the pup comparison but nice bass. I had one for a while, did plenty of gigs with it. The Seymours were good enough to gig with but it really sang when I put in a set of Wizard 64's. My daughter put Wizard 84's in her one. Both jobs were a worthwhile upgrade.
8. I know it's a bass but don't know whether it's in a case or not.
9. Once I know what I'm picking up, I can tell Grangur and being the fine fellow that he is, he will supply a box to suit. We are getting there.
10. Tim, what do you think you said that might not be the truth? Just wondering in case I did the same.
11. there you go, between Richard and I it will get sorted.
12. PM me all the info and details and we can work it out. Off to bed now so I'll be back to you tomorrow.
13. I'm in Hoddesdon and happy to help. Don't have a box though.
14.
FWIW I'd pay more at auction for a bass that Mark King and John McVie have signed than having it in the knowledge that Gary Mac played it in Hoddesdon. Maybe I'm wrong, but maybe the fundraising at gigs would be better too if you can show the sigs and say the stars who've signed? Sorry Gary, but he knows where I'm coming from. I recon sigs first, gigs later. You're all doing a great job.
No worries mate, I know where you are coming from
15.
Stick an MXR 80+ between the bass & the amp. G.
I do this for some gigs and it is lush This and DR Highbeam rounds gives me a very in yer face bass sound with my P basses. Certainly not thuddy.
16.
My new (to me anyway, it's a '95) USA SB2 First gig with it will be Saturday night, really looking forward to it
So was it pleasing to gig with then? Looks like a lovely instrument.
17. That is impressive Rich, can't wait to see the finished job. Great work as usual.
18.
We'll try and organise a weekend meetup in London in the next few months, between now and the LBGS, for those who can't make either.
This is a sound idea Silvia.
19. You all have a brilliant day, judging by the list it's going to be well attended. I'm not going to make it. Setting up for our gig fairly early tonight and need to conserve energy.
20. Hi Bob. Welcome back to the world of bass. If you truly lack playing skills, it may be a bit early to be considering pedals. If you have money to spend, then lessons would be a sound plan. But whatever you decide, hope you enjoy and stick around, If you do want pedals there are always plenty in the for sale forum
21. I had the same problem with mine on an open air gig a few years back and that was due to a generator. Not sure of the technicalities but guess the power surges or fluctuates enough for the Shuttle to be affected.
22. Good luck with your sale. You're more likely to get some takers if you get pics up
23.
I've been having a blast learning Heart of the Sunrise! On a similar note, I have a new admiration for Chris Squire.
So pleasing to get a Squire bass line nailed.
