1. would have been all over this if it was still a four string.
2. Congrats. Lovely name, our little granddaughter is a Ruby Rose.
3.
The Gotoh 201 bridge uses the same holes as the bridge you are replacing and is a bit more substantial. I've used them on some of my basses and found the only other adjustment you need to make is a neck shim. There is a really good thread on how to do that here: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1846625 Cheers Leon
I've used the Gotoh 201 on my P bass thats for sale on here. Really good bridge and I feel, much more pleasing to look at than the Badass and a lot cheaper. They come up on Ebay fairly regularly, normally go for between £20-£30. So, how are getting on with the Jazz?
4.
+1 Quite a stunner, to those of us who like basses with a black finish as I do! Matching headstock's a nice feature too.. GLWTS
a thanks type sunday morning bump
5.
im not knocking Wal basses but when i played one a few years ago, the tone was a very uninspiring thud. it was beautifully made but apart from that i really couldnt see the appeal from the tone. but the feel of the bass was amazing
I've never encountered the words Wal and thud in the same sentence Must have had very dead strings or a seriously duff amp/cab.
6. Good man, thanks for that.
7.
Oh wal!! Just got the my passive 4 back from Paul Herman. What a difference! General make over / set up etc . The man's a genius and a really nice bloke too. Couldn't be happier! The best just got better, In my opinion :-)
I must contact him about some spares for my Wal. To save me looking it up, where are they based these days? I love Alembics and Wals but it's a surprising choice of instrument for an AC/DC tribute
8. Hasn't he got another bass for sale on here. Off to have a look
9. Well thank you and congrats on one of the speediest responses
10. Good quality, mostly Fender, Precision Bass. My crafted in Hertfordshire Precision bass project. Put together with all excellent parts which are listed below. It plays extremely well, feeling and sounding like a good instrument should. I’ve used it for a few gigs over recent months and it really worked well in the band setting and received a good number of complimentary comments. Acoustically it is very resonant and amplified it really has something to say for itself. Currently strung with a set of DR High Beams 45-105’s. Happy to swap these out for a nearly new set of D’Addario Chrome Flats if preferred. The neck is from a Classic Vibe Precision, I have sprayed the headstock and applied the Fender decal. It has not been done to try to con anyone, check the photos. The fret work is very good and there is no wear. Width at the nut is 41 mm. The neck/body fit is extremely good. The twenty two year old body is in amazingly good condition, just a couple of small dents that haven’t cracked the paint. Nothing bad enough to show up in the photos. The whole thing comes in at a shoulder friendly weight of 8lb 14 oz. Although the price might seem a little high for a home build, I’m not looking at making a profit, just hoping to recoup most of my outlay. It seems a shame to strip down and sell the parts when and instrument works well, so I’ll leave the ad on here for a while and see if there is any interest. Components are as follows: Body is a 1991 Japanese 62 Reissue. Neck and tuners from a Classic Vibe P bass. (Fender 70’s decal applied, I’ve left the Squier details on the rear). Gotoh bridge. Kiogon wiring loom/harness. Genuine Fender Gold Anodized Pick Guard. Fender 62 r/i flat top, knurled knobs. Fender 62 r/i strap pins. Fender 2012 neck plate. Guy Lewis Hard wood thumb rest/tug bar. Seymour Duncan quarter pounder pick ups. If preferred I can swap the very lovely Gotoh bridge for a standard Fender unit and adjust the final price down by £20. I’m happy for BC’ers to visit and try it out. Would prefer collection but if you want it posted let me know and I will get a quote. (probably around £20 as I will need to source a box and plenty of bubble wrap). Payment by bank transfer or cash if collecting. 11. Not absolutely sure but I think Audacity has that facility.
12. Sympathies Gus. Agree with white Cloud, just by pass the G.P. unless of course, it's a pre existing condition that you know requires the G.P. Did the same a couple of years back. There I was gently raking the lawn, when I twisted slightly and Oh My Word, Immediate seizure somewhere in my back, followed by pain that radiated out to EVERYWHERE. Had to crawl back in to the house, feeling very sorry for myself. One session with a physio the next day got me sorted My lawn is now a haven for moss.
13. Good luck. Hope you raise the roof, awareness and some cash
14. Rich, you are welcome to drop in and check out my kit. I have a GB Shuttle 6, and also a TC Electronics BH250, Mark Bass 2 x 10 cabs.
15. What a pleasing looking pair Paddy.
16. Paul has been a total pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Another of the BC good guys, highly recommended.
17. Why not message him and see if he is happy for you to check it out prior to bidding. Thirty years of the fluctuating temperature and humidity of most loft spaces, could cause an awful lot of damage. But if the price stays low then it could make a good restoration project. The last two numbers of the serial number look slightly wonky, so I would be having a close look at that.

NBD :)

Looks like it needs some loving Hope you enjoy.
19. After much deliberation, Lowdown for me. The standard was high throughout though and this didn't make it an easy decision.
20. There is some great work there this month. It's between Discreet and Lowdown for me. Need to listen again and will then try to make a decision and vote.
21. Like you said, it might be a good opportunity for the band. So if you feel it's an opportunity that you welcome, then surely you will be happy to abide by their requirements.
22. Know what you mean Shell and was having the same thoughts at our gig last saturday, whilst playing Hot 'n' Cold by Katy Perry. Feel a bit uneasy about Teenage Kicks as well.
23. Brilliant, just watched the whole thing whilst having brekkie and really enjoyed. Great work.
