Was about to sing his praises but he beat me to it.

I've got the SPB 3 quarter pounders in a couple of my p bass projects. Money well spent, punchy, growly and sound damned fine in a band setting. Not got experience with the others that you mentioned, other than Wilkinsons which have been in a few basses that have passed through my hands. Seemed adequate, and would do the job for not much cash. Probably not the best choice if you want a really obvious upgrade.

Sorry James, don't know why but I had Southampton in mind.

I'm hoping not to have to drive all the way to Southampton, as I'm feeling a bit on the ropey ticket at the mo. If no one is making the trip, then maybe we could get some sort of relay sorted to get it back to its home in Southampton. I could get it to somewhere along the M25 for example, someone else gets it a few miles further and before we know it, it is back home.
