1. So, are you going for it? Bit too much mojo for me and not without some issues.
2. Good one for us last night. I certainly put in a better performance than last week, thankfully. The only duff note from me was the result of a scarily large mozzie settling on my fretting hand, resulting in me screaming like a girl, fingers exiting the fret board and walloping the open E string on the way. Bandmates looked some what shocked and bewildered. Other than that, all good.
3. May be it's time to ebay this, although I really didn't want to.
4. Like Kev B I had a bit of a shocker last night, well just the middle set really and typically that was when a few of the local musos had turned up for a look. Just couldn't seem to focus, then had a little brain blank , hit a duff note and then hit it again I had a flask of proper filter coffee stashed in my car, so had three cups in the break, then feeling recharged and a little wired, had a good last set. Deb, so glad your debut gig was a good one.
5. not sure which one will get an outing tonight. It's going to be hot 'n'sweaty.
6. Another great transaction with this true Bass Chat gent. Highly recommended, trustworthy and trusting. Tonight I'm a very happy chap, thanks to Si.
7.
Wimp! I have a gig in London and I'll still be there.
I would expect no less from a super hero like your good self
8. Just checked my gig diary and I have a function that night in Harlow, so think I will have to give it a miss.
9. For me, being one of the slightly more senior members, I have gone down the lightweight route, having ditched all my lovely Trace kit. So, two x Markbass 2.x 10 cabs with tweeters. Genz Benz shuttle 6 amp. I've used this set up with a classic rock line up, depping for an indie rock lot and with the current band doing a bit of everything old and new. Sound wise I've been very happy with it in all of the above situations and it's an easy load in and out of the house/car. Good luck in your search.
10. I'm amazed this thread isn't already up to three pages of us all recommending what we use.
11. I know, I've just been unlucky and mucked about a bit. Just wanted to point out, there's nowt wrong with the bass. No one has actually been along to look at it and not liked what they've seen. It just BC'ers saying they will have it and then not.
12. It's like cock rock without the ........er......cocks
13. Message the moderator for the forum in question, he/they will be able to solve the mystery.

Ped!!!

I had been having the same problem up until last week. Out of desperation I finally decided to give Google Chrome a try. All good now, no more slow BC
15. Have you tried lowering the pup on the side nearest the E? Being too close can cause that effect
16. Not unlike my one, good luck with your sale
17. Saw this gig advertised but couldn't get there. Love his work
18. Good idea Nibody. Until my daughter returns from maternity leave, I'm on long term loan to DefunkT http://www.lemonrock.com/defunkt
19. Hope it goes well for you We did our first festival recently, got the closing spot on the second night and went down a storm. Like Dad says, get plenty of pics, we did.
20.
This thread left me wondering how many others check at the last fret as all the top setter uppers (thats a technical term you know) use the 12th fret, I found this link which goes into great detail about checking at the 1st and last fret of the neck, it even has a photo with the explanation of where to check at the first and last fret below it yet clearly shows the guy using my method of no capo and the 12th fret http://www.fretnotgu...r/truss-rod.php I think its best to get the neck right from the 12th up to the nut then try a straight edge against the whole neck, if the releif then becomes too much overall it needs a shim at the neck joint before doing anything else, testing and adjusting at the last fret wont help as the truss rod wont alter that end of the neck and in some cases will actually hump up or ruin the neck if you go too far, thankfully mine have always gone back down after releasing the tension but I have seen plenty of humps around the 10th fret or so, no adjusting saddle screws will get you over a hump!
I've always used the last fret but will now try this method as it does seem to make sense Before making a final decision I may head off and ask MDP for his advice
