    I've always liked the thinking behind the p/j combination but usually found the reality a bit disappointing. For me the P pup is suffecient, if I want more mids then I generally look to the eq section on my amp.

    I sometimes sit at rehearsals but find myself standing again for the more boisterous numbers. I just don't/can't play with the same ooomph when sitting.

    Ahead of next weeks band rehearsal I have spent a couple of hours this evening learning: Muse Plug In Baby. The Killers All these things I've done. Deelite, Groove is in the heart. Quite enjoyed myself really So, what new tunes have other BC'ers been working on today?

    Ideally my gigging basses need to be under 10lb for these days. I've also found body shape makes a difference, for example I can comfortably play a p bass for longer than a lighter jazz bass.

    No you are not being picky. If the songs bore you now, just think how it will feel after you've gigged them a few times. The only time I would learn that many songs would be for a dep, not an audition.
