That's good news, can't imagine it would be a pleasant atmosphere to work in though.

I decided against the Mark Bass in the end, not because of where it is made, (the TC amp is also made in China) but rather because I had read of problems with repairs/service etc with MB gear in recent times.

Finally decided to go for the TC Electronics BH250. Put it through its paces last night at rehearsal and pleased to report that it is very good. Probably not the build quality of my GB Shuttle 6 but at the price I'm impressed.

I would advise phoning Wizard and discussing your pup needs. It's what I've done a couple of times in the past, he was very helpful and got me sorted on both occasions.

G&L SB1 well worth a look. I love Fender P basses but these days always seem to opt for my SB1 when gigging. It's passive but the pup is extremely hot.

Mark, I'm guessing you probably know this but just thought I would mention it anyway. Having the neck altered will possibly affect it's value as a vintage item. Probably not an issue if you plan to keep it but worth thinking about if you were planning on selling it on at some point. Maybe the tech/luthier could advise you further or maybe rout out the neck pocket. Anyway good luck, hope it gets sorted for you.

My pleasure mate, just a pity we couldn't get it sorted properly for you. Frustrating for you but I think you've made the best decision, hopefully it will a reasonably easy fix for someone with the right tools for the job.

That wants drilling out and a decent dowel glued in and the jobs a good un.
