1.
Is Flea renowned for his choice of badly set up instruments? Hasn't' he also used Musicman/Modulus/wal basses in his time? Does that mean they are inferior also? Confused.
and me
2. Great work Nige, really enjoyed that. Found the vid very slightly distracting but that's probably down to watching at the the tail end of a migraine,
3.
Yeah it's a shame, he was a good chap to have on here.
Agreed, miss quite a few of the old regulars on here. On the plus side, Mr. Discreet is amongst us again
4.
Dominant 7 chord with some or all of the following upper extensions - flat 9 (G), sharp 9 (A), sharp 11 © and flat 13 (D). Altered scale is the 7th mode from melodic minor scale and contains all the above alterations.
Newbies aren't allowed to have all this knowledge, it's just not fair. Now go away and start asking questions like "should I buy a jazz or a p"
5. Nice bass, I sold it to Ikay last year. Bet it sounds so right with flats on.
6.
Woo hoo, I've done a deal with my brother, I've traded/bought back the other 4 Wals, just sat here staring at 6 Wal basses, I'm now a pig in the u know what..
Glad that you are reunited. What a collection
7.
Looks really similar to mine - I just need the matching Headstock! Great taste
Great taste indeed Sprayed up the headstock myself and quite pleased with the result.
8. Fairly recent convert here. Love them on my 58 bitza p bass. They are also a brilliant company to deal with, their customer service being really first rate.
9. If you do decide to go with the traditional type bridge, then I'm with White Cloud, The Gotoh 201 is a really nice bit of kit and for me much more pleasing than the Badass. I've not got any experience of the other type of bridge, other than on my Wal. Not broken a string in a gigging situation but as you say, it could happen.
10. If I'm using rounds these days it has to be DR Hghbeams. If flats then it D'addario Chromes. So smooth and lovely
11. I hadn't spotted the price tag but looked at the Wal anyway.
12. Enjoy your big spend up and hope it helps relieve the boredom.
13. If you click on the pic you should hopefully be able to see all the controls fairly clearly. If not, let me know and I can send you some more pics. Thanks,
14. High quality three ply, mint green, precision pick guard. I can't confirm the manufacturer but the quality is better than some of the Fender ones that I've seen. Screening foil to the control area. Very good condition with just some light scratches/pick marks. This is a thirteen screw hole version, with additional holes for thumbrest and cover. £14.50 inc. postage. Bank transfer please. 15. A sunday bump for the weekend visitors
16. Enjoy playing it at home then mate. I decided a couple of days back to abandon the project. Various reasons, health, finances etc. Rather than have all the parts knocking about here I'm going to move them on. Stupid really as I'll probably be searching for all the same items, when the time comes to undertake another project.
17. Fraser/Kirke one of my favs
18. Looking good Paddy. Have you gigged it yet?
