1. No gig for me tonight, quite glad really as I'm knackered. Looking forward to Thai tapas and seeing in the new year with family. Good luck and a Happy New Year to all my Bass Chat friends

3.
The reason most AC/DC covers bands are sh*te is because they dont have a Cliff Williams! People think because they can slap and pop they are better (even people on here who have never left the shed) so many of those players cant play a 4 minute pop song and keep time, Its like the story of the drum clinic where the guy just played a straight solid beat for 15 minutes or something and told everyone to learn how to do that and they will be able to have a career in the business
Exactly! Nicely put Pete.
4. So dont go in there They don't deserve your business.
5. That is a looker, really really nice . Agree with Lozz about chromes. I have on one of my P's, love them. the P bass I gigged with at the weekend has DR Highbeams (rounds) on and I love them too.
6. A new venue for us in Harlow, Essex on saturday night. Our first gig with new singer and new guitarist. Couple of slightly ropey moments but on the whole it was a fine gig. Plenty of punters up and dancing. More bookings out of it and asked if we would consider doing New Years Eve 2013
7. Yes I've used them a few times and always received excellent service. Complained last time that the item was scratched, they were very apologetic and true to their word immediately sent a replacement.
8. I used an affinity p bass a while back for a modding project and it turned out really well. If you can get it somewhere around £50 it would be a good deal. The pups and electrics aren't brilliant but you could get a few bob for them on Ebay. Then upgrade and you will have a decentish instrument, so long as the truss rod and neck are ok.
9. Wishing him a good recovery. I was with someone last weekend who is recovering after treatment for the same cancer. He is doing well but has had a very tough time. Bastid cancer
10. I'd be using wood adhesive for that type of repair.
11. Welcome aboard, glad you've seen the light

13.
looks like a pearly king who got mugged by button-nutters.
14.

I'm so grateful that Mark has visited our site and furnished us with all this vital info. I now know what sort of kit I need and why I've not been able to thus far get in to a decent band. What a fine chap
15. Another pain free transaction with Paddy. Good price, excellent comms throughout and my purchase was extremely well packed. He's a good 'un
16. As above, just fitted a set of quarter pounders in my latest project p bass. Haven't actually gigged it yet but sounded good in rehearsal. Will gig it this coming saturday.
17. Have a splendid Birthday. Hope the new purchase proves to be the cure
18. Some people can be a right royal pain, particularly if you find it difficult to be rude, which it was what tends to be needed we these thick skinned types. I so prefer being in the company of guitarists who don't think that every song needs a full on solo.
19. He was discussing this in a recent BGM article
20.
Yay! But for an apparently simple song, the bass line is surprisingly challenging - if you play Jim Lea's version.
Not sure I've nailed it note for note Mark but it's certainly quite busy
21. At next weeks gig we will be finishing the night with the Slade one, went down a storm last year.
22. Bloody hell Si, do you have a never ending supply of these lovely vintage Fenders?
