Bass guitar magazine is really good this month
gary mac replied to hollywoodrox's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I think its the best issue in a long time. Just wish they would use a slightly larger/bolder typeface -
Classy mate What a cracking finish. hope you both enjoy a long and happy relationship. New cab day for me so I'm happy as well.

Markbass Std 102HF 2 x 10” + horn. 400 watts 8 ohms. This is the twin ported, slightly larger model. The only reason I am selling, is that due to a back problem I need another of the slightly lighter single ported cabs. I always take good care of my kit and therefore the cab is in extremely good condition. The carpeted finish has not suffered any wear and still looks good. The only signs of wear really are some slight scuffs to the corner protectors and to the coating of some of the numerals on the horn attenuator dial. Check out the photos to see what I’m talking about. The front grill and logo still look good as new. No damage to the speakers. 1 speakon and 2 standard jack inputs. Width approx 59 cm Depth approx 48 cm Height approx 55 cm Weight approx 25k (55lbs). Selling for £350. I’m in Hertfordshire and would prefer for this to be collected. Happy to accept cash or bank transfer. PayPal at a push but I don’t want to suffer the fees. Hoping not to have to post but willing to do so. I’m guessing the couriers cost would be in the region of £25.00. This would need to be confirmed if delivery is required.

Back in a band and excited again !!

Good news, particularly as they are a decent bunch of chaps. -
Put a new set of Highbeams on my old G&L a few weeks back prior to a run of gigs. Sounds awesome (to me).
24 songs in three hours!
Impressive, I'm pleased with 3 songs in 24 hours

Not sure why but I feel the same about it as you. When I see the type of wording used in this ad, I'm always suspicious, although I suppose it could be true. "don't know much about it, I just play my precision" Generally but I guess not always, people who have four basses tend to know what they are about and how they function. It might be genuine but if you are worried, then back away. I do, safe in the knowledge that there will be another one along at some point.

I made my brain hurt all morning trying to remember the track. Finally got there "WHY" Came back on here all pleased with myself and you had already sussed it.

I seem to remember that the B side of the Easy Livin single had a busy bass line, particularly towards the end of the number, weird sort of tone though, like a whole load of angry wasps stuck in a chimney . Not much use to you though as I can't think what the song was called but it wasn't on the Demon and Wizards album. Maybe once I wake up a bit more and have some caffeine it will all come back to me.
I particularly like the " white felt bushes that I get from Holland," I reckon that's what he's been smoking
His descriptions are becoming more and more entertaining and ridiculous with each listing. Was going to say long may it continue but problem is, some poor sap eats up the bullshit and shells out their hard earnt dosh.

Sorted now Lead Guitarist wanted urgently (hertfordshire)
gary mac posted a topic in Other Musicians
Our guitarist has abandoned ship due to other commitments. We have gigs booked and therefore need to get in a replacement sharpish. Based in Herts we play mostly pub gigs, plus a few functions. We aim to gig on average twice a month, although september was every weekend but then none in october. Line up at present is drums, me on bass, female lead vocal, female rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Set is a mix of old and new, covering rock, pop, soul and funk. Looking for a good all round, versatile guitarist. There is some video footage taken at a recent function on our facebook page, if you want to get an idea of what we are about. http://www.facebook....nktband?fref=ts So, Bass chatters if you know of any guitarists who might fit the bill pm me please. -
Musicians adverts that fill you with confidence.

Based on the songs I think they would have been faded orange, worn through around the knees and too short - revealing his fair isle thick woollen socks. . . -
ooh that is a looker

Just noticed the BIN price has been revised, not quite such a bargain.
-
Looks good, hope you get it and it's all ok. Only a few hours left
-
Good work, must say I didn't realise there were so many.

Sounds like a sensible plan Lozz but can understand your trepidation concerning selling the 70's P basses. I did the same a few years back with my rig, which was a Trace. Loved everything about that set up other than the weight. I would spend a couple of days after each gig layed out on the settee with a hot water bottle on my back. Not good. Went down the Mark Bass route with a GB shuttle amp. You are welcome to visit Mac towers if you would like to check out my set up, although I'm guessing you already know how they sound and what you want. Anyway the invite is there

Was listening to the Yes Album on my headphones a couple of nights back, I just love his playing on that album.

Good man, thanks.
A wire connects the two cavities,
Marvin, I'm just doing the same job on one of my p basses. So is the wire through the straw with the pup cables and then soldered both ends ?

Fender Precision bass.. help if is fake or not 1976 or 1962
gary mac replied to helikacarvalho's topic in Bass Guitars
What a sorry bloody tale, find myself wishing that you had come on here and asked the questions prior to buying. . Good luck, hope you get it resolved. I suspect you will have a real job on your hands though. -
I was looking at this one earlier and thought,,, FAKE but more due to a feeling, rather than a rational conclusion based on any knowledge of vintage fenders.
