1. A bump for our weekend visitors.
2. Good luck with it. Did the same a couple of years back. Totally knackering but enjoyable. Felt jet lagged and like I had been trampled on the following day.
3. Looking good, what make is the body?
4. Not actually tried the Hammers but my daughter had the 84's in her jazz and I had 64's in mine. They were a worthwhile upgrade over the stock pups. Andy at Wizard is very approachable, helpful and willing to chat through your requirements.
5. I love JPJ's bass line on Ramble On.
6. Back to the top for this nice little amp at the bargain basement price of £40.00
7. Thought I would give these another bump up.
8. Good work, it's coming on really nice.
9. Get it in and out of the rain. Very nice.
10. And replied, thanks
11. Totally agree Pete.
12. Got to agree Nige. It can be a very pleasing thing. I've taken to doing a root/octave thing at the end of the chorus on Billie Jean, so simple but my band mates think I'm genius

Heellppp!!

I'm sure there is a thread for this somewhere on the forum, can't recall where at the mo. Might be worth you finding it though as perhaps it would get more views.
14. Think I'll get a spare valve for mine, just in case. Had mine for about three years now, all good other than a noisy/scratchy master volume. I sprayed it up a few times, which provided a temporary improvement. In the end it went back to Fender under warranty and has been perfect since.
15. Thanks John, I was going to suggest that Pow 22 asked you and then along you came, good man.
16.
ask yourself the following questions... 1) can I afford it 2) If I buy it and end up selling it, is the loss in buying price/selling price worth it. 3) will it give me something I can't already do. i.e. you have a blue jazz, is a red jazz going to give you anything extra, a P, or a 6 string fretless will. 4) If I buy it will this mean other gear will not be used and can be sold 5) do i really want it, do I know this- or do I think I do? e.g. It took me a lot of jazz basses to find out they were not for me. 6) am I being daft. e.g. I keep looking at jazz basses... but know that finding one better than the basses I have now is not going to happen 7) If I do have the money. What would I do with it else wise if it doesn't go on the bass? Sometimes eating or holidays are more important than basses. Or even a decent amp. 8) if there is no justification for having this, but can afford it (1) and the resale price wouldn't loose me much (2) is it worth just going for it? Example... you buy the bass secondhand, you are happy. If you sell it on 2 years later 'cos, well you don't need the thing, and loose £120 on relative values/postage/extra strings etc is borrowing the bass for £5 a month worth it. 9) new things don't make you a better player.
Agreed, although with reference to point 9, a new instrument can inspire you to play new things or old things in a new way. So maybe it can make you a better player. Whatever, life is short, if you want it and are not going in to debt for it then get it and enjoy a short period of GAS free living.
17. Yes I was looking at this one earlier. Certainly doesn't look like it's had an easy life. Probably salvagable though.
18. IMPORTANT: DO NOT SLAP AT BASS CHAT GATHERINGS, OR AT ANY OTHER GATHERINGS OF BASS PLAYERS,
19. Good news, chuffed for you. Look forward to seeing your first gig post soon.
20. That is very lovely, enjoy
