1. Squier 20th Anniversary Precision Bass. Limited edition 2002 affinity four string model, finished in blue. I know that the Affinity range might be a bit low brow for Bass Chat but this is a surprisingly good bass, so prior to putting it on EBay I thought I would see if any there was any interest on here. I’ve not gigged it but at home practise volume it sounds great. The truss rod works perfectly. The neck is good and free from dinks/dents. The fretwork is all good and there are no dead spots. I have cleaned the fret board and applied lemon oil. It is set up with a nice low action and is wearing a set of Fender Steel 45-105 strings, used but with plenty of life left in them. They sound really punchy but have lost that new zing. The condition of the body is generally good, although there are a few dings and scrapes which should be visible in the photos. The volume and tone controls function perfectly and are crackle free. The knobs are flat topped chunky fender type as opposed to the dome top ones normally associated with these instruments. The hardware although basic, functions as it should and there is no damage or visible wear. The pick guard is single ply white and has a couple of cracks which should be visible in the photos. I was intending to swap out the hardware and pimp this bass but I’ve now decided to leave it as it is and sell it on. Given that we are about to start some much needed home improvements I’m not going to have the time for this sort of project for a while and I can’t justify having another P bass knocking about the house. There is an American Ebayer trying to sell a similar one to this for about £390, which I think is a bit on the optimistic side, even though it is an anniversary model and presumably slightly more desirable/collectable. I was thinking of around [s]£145.00 [/s]but willing to consider offers. Price dropped to[s] £135.00[/s].[s] £130.00 [/s] NOW ONLY £110.00. If it doesnt go to a new bass chat home in the next few days, I think I will be keeping it and maybe pimping it after all. I’m in Hertfordshire. Anyone interested in viewing and a coffee get in touch. Cash upon collection preferred. I can accept paypal but would rather not due to the fees. A bank transfer would be fine. Of course shipping can be arranged at additional cost.
2. Glad to hear it mate. But you will feel very sheepish when it comes to sticking it in the for sale forum in a few months time
3. One thing that should cheer you today Clarky, is your the obvious high esteem that you are held in on this forum, three pages already. Sorry to hear of your woes, hope something good comes your way soon.
4. A Saturday bump for the weekend visitors
5. Bump for this rather splendid little combo.
6. I recently got my hands on one of these, with a view to maybe stripping the body for a bitsa project. However, having played it, it feels like a good one, so I've decided to leave it alone as it's really rather good and it seems a bit cruel to part it out. Also with an upcoming house project I haven't got the time. Anyway good luck with the sale
7. Wish you well and hope you have a speedy recovery.
8. A slight price drop bump. I thought that 50% of the new price was about right but seeing as there were no takers a reduction might do the trick. It's a good little amp, just surplus to requirements.
9. not exactly a demon with a camera either.
10. Lemon oil on the fret board. let it soak in and then wipe off the excess. Good quality guitar polish/wax for the body. If it's very grubby and with scratches, then t cut or similar. Polyester is a tough finish and i've used t cut to good effect, followed by a good polish. .Light coating of a fine oil on the bridge and saddle screws etc.
11. That does look very cool. That Howard is a jolly fine chap.
12. The Isle of Wight has always been sunny for us, even when we went over a couple of months back (mid November), we were walking the beach at Compton Bay in t shirts. Didn't brave the surf though but there were quite a few brave souls surfing, some without wet suits. They breed em tough over there. Welcome by the way.
13. A compact, good quality 20 watt practice amp/combo. Finished in black vinyl with corner protectors and carry handle. 1 x 8" Speaker, behind a robust metal grill. Front panel consists of: Input socket (which is slightly crackly when inserting jack plug but does not cause any problem when playing). Gain/volume. Equalization Low, Mid and High. Headphone input. Power switch and indicator light. Rear Panel consists of: Cable tidy. Extension speaker socket. (minimum 4 ohms). A nice little practice amp in very good condition. Looking for[s] £45 £40.00 [/s] £35.00 collected from my place in Hertfordshire. Alternatively postage can be arranged at additional cost.
14. The parts all look good, so go and get stuck in Jerry. Hope you enjoy the experience.
15. I have experienced some of this nonsense over they years. It has become painfully obvious over the last couple of years when searching the musician wanted sites, that there are an awful lot of dreamers, wannabes and general waste of space tossers. A fair few of them old enough to know better. Thankfully there are some decent ones amongst them but it can be a long tedious process getting to them.
16. I'll have to re visit, got as far as the end of the first night and had a few chuckles on the way.
17. Yes, time to move on to a new teacher. Just the fact that you are questioning it, I guess means that you know it's not working or even likely to long term.
18. No problem. I tend to look out for the auctions, rather than BIN and stick in a last minute bid. The downside being that most of the auctions end at 2 or 3 in the morning.
19. Happy Bassy Birthday. Maybe a good day to treat yourself to something from the sales forums
20. I've used this site http://stores.ebay.c...Tosphere?_rdc=1
21. It is an impressive piece of design, although I can only imagine the reaction of my band mates if I turned up with one for the next pub gig
