1.
Probably a reference to the ~ shape caused by the truss rod, so the last few frets 'kick' up a bit. Have you got a 2' steel rule or similar straight edge to lay along the frets & check?
If you don't have a short steel rule, at a push a credit/debit card isn't a bad substitute
2. A couple of Bass Chatters have pointed out to me that the going price should be £170-£180 for one these and I agree, infact I think I've already said that in an earlier post. But this has mods as detailed in the OP. I'm not trying to recoup the whole cost of the mods, just a reasonable percentage.
3. Hi Clive. My daughter is selling an Orange 50watt combo that can be used with an extension cab. it's in the sale forum.
4.
are your cabs the traveller or standard series thanks
My cabs are the standard series.
5. Don't think you'll be needing my help then How good is that? The man who played it originally offering to help you, got to love Bass Chat. If he gets it wrong let me know and I'll do the corrections. Welcome to the forum Stu.
6. I use two Mark Bass 2 x 10" cabs. Been very happy with the performance, certainly bassy enough. Versatile set up. For quieter gigs and rehearsals I just take one of them.
7. Feel for you. There are some orrid little scrots sharing our space.
8. I received a copy as a pressie last year. It's has been extremely useful. If, like me you are interested in doing your own set ups and general bass tinkering, then it's money well spent.
9. Still available, a lot of interest but no viewings as yet. Come on, I make a good cuppa.
10. You don't need a luthier. Hopefully a bass chatter in your neck of the woods will come to the rescue. Who can resist a damsell in distress? If not a bass chatter, there must be someone you know who is half way handy with DIY.

All my girls

Delectable harem I say
12. Now they were a band and a half. Greg Ridley and Jerry Shirley were one of the great un-sung rhythm sections. 'Live - Rockin' the Filmore' is one of my all-time favourite albums. Yes that's a cracker of an album and still a regular on my hi fi, they were certainly an impressive live act. Saw Stevie Marriots Packet of Three at a pub in Finchley some years back, Jerry shirley on drums and still so good. Greg Ridley no longer with us of course
13.
Slightly off topic but I've always thought that lemmy managing to get thrown out of hawkwind for a drug habit is like getting thrown out of the church for having too much faith , an unbelievable achievement
I met Stacia at the Sundown in Edmonton in 73. Although I had lusted after her for some time, all I managed was a mumble, an embaressed bit of shoe shuffling and a pathetic attempt to look her in the eye and not the chest. I'd like to blame the acid, but that turned out to be a very expensive piece of sliced uncooked spaghetti I've still got the Hawkwind "Have a good time" badge from that gig. Saw Humble Pie a few weeks later at the same venue, much more my cup of tea.
14. Good choice. I love most of that album and there is some very pleasing bass playing on it. Sorry can't sit and work it out at the moment as I still need to nail a few songs for tomorrow nights gig. If no one has come to your aid by the end of the weekend I'll try to help you.
15. That looks great and what good use of your grandparents chairs.

17.
I learned on one of these and yours looks like a lovely example! I always found the stock pups to be a little 'polite' so the Wizards should have improved things no end. Good luck with the sale and all good wished to your daughter. LC
Thank you. All the best
18. I seem to recall that as well. Anyway welcome back but why did you go and exhile yourself?
