1.
Hi Gary, Sorry to hear of your Daughters poor health, hope its nothing serious. Where abouts are you?
Have pm'd you sir.
2.
i think to expensive you can find them at ebay for $200... fred
It's generally considered bad form on here to post comments like this. Seeing that you have though, I would like to say that, a lot of items can be found cheaper on ebay. Also the U.S. market is different to ours, I'm assuming you are talking of the U.S. market given that you quoted dollars. If this bass was not modded I would have set the price at £180.00, which is a very fair price given the condition. The pups and straplocks cost my daughter £90.00 so we have added what we considered a reasonable £60.00. Perhaps any further comments about pricing could be via pm thanks.
3. Good man. There are a few bass chatters sort of localish (Lozz196 and the brig spring to mind), maybe we could meet up in old stevenage, have a look in Coda and then coffee or beer.
4. SQUIER VINTAGE MODIFIED JAZZ This is my daughter’s Squier bass. Plenty of bass chatters are probably aware of how impressive these Indonesian built instruments are, this one is a very good example and is in excellent condition. Nicely modded with Wizard 84 pick-ups, cavity screening and Schaller strap locks. Hopefully the photos will clearly show the lovely grain and wood colour, and the almost blemish free body, neck and head stock. No wear to any of the twenty frets or the maple fretboard. All controls function properly and are crackle free. Truss rod works perfectly and is set to the correct tolerance. Given the excellent condition and the mods, the asking price is £240.00 Happy for Bass Chatters to visit for a viewing/test drive. There is no case with this bass so collection would be preferred. If you do require the bass to be posted, we can arrange for shipping, but please note that this will be at additional cost over and above the price quoted. My daughter is having some health problems at the moment and not able to work, hence the sale of this and some other instruments. She is therefore not interested in trades at this time. She is a Bass Chat member but I offered to do the photos, put up the ads and deal with the sales as she just isn’t up to doing it herself at present. Cash sale preferred, but can accept Pay Pal or Bank transfer.
5. John, if you are taking a trip up to Terry in Stevenage, let me know if you want to meet up for a coffee and chat.
6. Glad it went well and that you got through it ok. Good man
7. Squier MB4 Bass. Offered for sale at £125.00, my daughter’s Indonesian built Squier four string, fretted bass. This model has been discontinued but when available the RRP was £310, so I think £125 seems to be a very fair price. 8. Would nicely disguise and diminish the look of my ever expanding gut.
9. That looks very nice. Good luck with your sale. Not that you have asked for my opinion but for what it's worth, I think you could furnish us with a bit more info and more pics.
10. Yes, stick with it. Have a breather and come back to it when your mood improves. I felt the same last weekend, when I had probs with a p bass body purchased for a build. I sulked for a few days and deleted all the items in my watch list on e bay. But will start looking again soon.
11. These days I use a printed tick sheet of kit that I set up on the computer. Use it for the load in at home and just as importantly the load back in, post gig.
12. Although it's admirable that you are willing to give it a try, I don't think it's a sound idea. Will pm you.
13. Another thumbs up for obbm. Top man to deal with and quality kit at decent prices.
14. I've just taken delivery of a P bass body from Mike, who was a pleasure to deal with. The body was as described and well packaged. Thanks.
15. Given how you feel about it and the general low standard, walk away. Life's too short. I did the same earlier this year, not because the standard was low, it was actually very good but other reasons were preventing us from progressing. I had realised this right from the start but kept at it, hoping the situation would improve. It didn't and was never likely to, so I did what I should have done a year earlier and left. Had a break from playing for a few weeks and then did some depps and started the search for another band. Someone actually found me a few weeks later. Like someone else mentioned, we are a rare breed. I cam remember that I did find it frustrating with Join my band and other sites, there are an awful lot of bedroom rockers and also middle aged blokes with all the gear, who want to kick up a din once a week every week for ever and ever but not actually gig, Also the band that have got the EP recorded, just waiting for George Martin to find a gap in his diary to mix it down for them.and blah blah ..............but there are some decent ones out there and one of them will need you Good luck with it whatever you decide.
16. A 59 P bass for less than the cost of a 70's one, I would be/am truly suspicious. Bargain postage price too.
17. Yes it looks good. Quality parts too. Be interesting to see if anyone bites. I think most buyers are reluctant to spend out on a bitsa, even when put together as nicely as this one looks to be. Added to watch list
18.
When he was on Jools t'other night I thought that was his old gold J he was playing?
Yes, so did I.
19. Welcome. enjoy the site. Hope you find the bass that you want.
