1. Good man Clarky. I love a bit of Northern Soul, a guily pleasure from the days of my youth. Could never admit it at the time as the crowd I hung with were all into Floyd, Yes, Zepp etc. as was I. Let us know when we can hear it.
2. Very quick indeed. I was about to contact you but too late. All the best, Gary
3. I'm sure I flagged this one up a while back and people seemed to think it was genuine then.
4. Handsome
5. Give our very own henry norton a pm.
6. Looking good Nick, hope you enjoy
7. How's it going then, have you made a start?
8. Thanks. I will need to rub the finish back to bare wood, so I guess I will need to use the sealer.
9. Thanks for the tips and pm, most helpful. I was planning to deal with the same company for the lacquer. Did you use the sealer/primer coat that they advise prior to the proper coatings. If I do the job the way they recommend, it means purchasing three different cans of lacquer products.
10. Nice job, I'm about to do the same to a Squier neck, tinting and decal that is. Who did you use for the decal and lacquer?
11. Truly hideous, what was probably a fine instrument now brutalised by a git with some sand paper.
12. Really really pleased for you. Good man.
13. Welcome Chris. It's a great site, hope you enjoy. Gary
14. I suspected that might be the case, thanks Ou7shined
15. I've now rubbed down the headstock to remove the Squier logo and drilled out the holes to accept proper size tuners. My plan now, is to apply tinted lacquer and then clear. My question is, do I need to remove the existing finish, which I think is polyurethane, from the neck or can I spray the lacquer straight over it, following a rub down to form a key? The lacquer and decals aren't cheap so I'm trying to avoid costly errors. As always all suggestions and pointers gratefully received.
16. Really surprised to see this for sale already, yes we are fickle buggers. Good luck, can't see you having any trouble moving this on,
17. Handsome. Hope you enjoy. I think G&L's are very very nice instruments.
18. I'm about to order decals and lacquer from this lot http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
19. Hope life improves for you soon and all this stress becomes a thing of the past
20. A before I go off to bed bump.
21. Stop buggering about man, all you need is another P bass or three
22. This one has been around a bit on Bass Chat. I got it a few months back for my bitsa project but have now got a new replacement. There are a few blemishes and marks and a crease caused by the good old royal mail who seemed to think it was a sound move to fold it up during it's journey to me, even though it was well packaged with instructions to not bend etc. Anyway I flattened it out and it's ok. Also a previous owner had carried out a bit of filing, presumably to get some oversized pups fitted. Anyway the pups I fitted were larger than fenders and so it didn't look too bad. A few weeks after I had finished my bass a set of American RI pups came up on here so I got them. When it came to fitting them though the gap around the pickguard cut out just looked a bit ropey and it was spoiling the whole look for me. So that's it, I've not exactly made it seem like a must have item but just don't want anyone thinking they will get a pristine piece of kit. Of course if you like your P bass with the chrome ash trays and covers then it wont show and you will have saved a whole load of dosh. Hopefully the photos will help explain more clearly than my ramblings. I would like £12.50 inc of postage
23. A very trusting, helpful Bass Chatter and a pleasure to deal with.
24. Blimey Chris that was a quick change about. Best of luck with the sale. You must stay faithful to the P bass and stop lusting after these strangers
